3 keys?  sounds like either a military or you have one that plays credits.  the military ones have a plate indicating what each key does (on/off and reset).  Credit would be to reset credits etc.

Hello,
I just found five Bally Slot Machines and I think are E series. I was in hurry and I didnt look at the badge to see the correct type. I really hope to make at least one from all five :). The manual will give me a good hand if you can send it to me. Thank you.

Hello

I'm new to the board and to restoring slot machines. I've had a passion for them for years but only recently found a fixer-upper that was affordable and local. It's a Bally 1982 E-2240-41 machine and while it seems to work great in a lot of areas theres a few things I just can't figure out on my own or by looking on the archives here.

I was hoping I might be able to get a copy of this manual too and see if it helps tie up loose ends. If DrFreeze or anyone else still has a PDF of this is it possible to repost?

It would be greatly appreciated!

Hello All,

I finally had a rainy weekend to pull my e-series out in an attempt to get it rec-room ready, but a couple of mechanical issues are holding it up.  I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out with the manual.

Thanks! :88-

"The 71 means the position reader on the
1st reel is not able to obtain a consistent
reading. 72 means 2nd reel is
at fault; 73, 3rd reel; 74, 4th reel;
75, 5th reel. If the reel in question
is' properly indexed, then this tilt
indicates the reel has been moved since
it was indexed. (This test is not performed
in SOS (-1) program versions.)
If the reel is not indexed, the cause
for this malfunction is most likely
mechanical. Self-test #2 (see page 7)
may be used to verify the operation of
the index coil. After the cause has
been found and corrected, press the
RESET button followed by depressing the
TEST button once."

The led display in the upper right of the face plate.  Somehow miraculously it started working. I think some of the card connectors are tarnished. It hasn't been used in years. I think I will disassemble the game and clean all the connectors and switches.
The key on the bottom right side of the machine I'm guessing should be turned to where it is not depressinf the switch. Not really sure what the key is for. Don't have a manual for this machine. Tryinng to figure everything out on my own. Slow process.

The key and switch are for restating the machine after the jackpots been hit.

Where can I find Manual and schematics for a Bally E Series (E-831-4).  Battery leak damage fixed.... board (AS 2978-3) is dead, processor has running activity, clock circuit running. +5 volts is 4.8.  Display has a "4" on the left 7 segment LED.  Would love to know more about this game before I sell it for scrap metal.

Thanks again!

Are you missing the air cylinder? Your not going to find one with a good rubber cup on the piston. They turn to a tar like substance. You then just clean them and use a small amout of grease inside. I have seen some people try to make their own new seal, but I tried and had not success, so I just clean and grease. You just can't let the handle snap back any more.

Thats the problem I have. The rubber has melted. I cleaned the tube and cylinder but now it slaps back. I will try greasing it possibly with a heavy grease.
Thanks for the post.

Don't use too much grease or you will have a mess inside the machine. I have just gotten use to holding onto the handle till it's back in position.

Well, it gets worse...  while archiving the eproms I found one that walks.  So I need the checksums and hopefully the binary data for the following:

Bally 3 line "777" 1000 coin jackpot

All 2716's
E-831        - M7/U11
E-755-14   - M3/U15
E-755-13   - M2/U16
E-755-12   - M1/U17    (bad chip - unstable (walking) signature)

Getting closer to the scrap yard!

Check with Barry (Foxsslots) he is the Bally man and
probably has the chips you need.

We don't allow the asking or sharing of bin files :18-

I just inherited two older bally machines.  I'm not at home to get photos but I believe they are 70's models.  I was curious, one is locked, one unlocked.  How hard is it for a locksmith to take care of them if the keys are missing?

i think the best and cheepest way is to drill out the old locks and then replace them with new loks and keys.

I have drilled out a few locks and replaced them my self...

hello,
I just got a Golden Continental lacking hopper. Is it possible to integrate a hopper resulting from any machine (from E serie)
thank you

Most all machines hoopers are wired diffrent because of the pay outs and thing.

you have to have a hopper to make all connections so it will work..

You can buy a diffrent hopper from a E series then have to wire it to make it work right.

its a 50/50 chance one might be wired right to make it work right...

Sorry for the bad news...

give me the model number of the bally machine...

Dont know if im right here on this.. Just going by what i have tested and tryed...

If im wrong some one please corect me...

The E-Series hoppers have a few differences. Some have different size coin bowl for your cabinet size. I have seen at least one the had what looked like coin optics for counting the coins out rather then the knife and roller switch. I thing you have a better chance of finding a replacement hopper for the E-Series, then you would for an EM.

the model number of the machine is an E1275 (1981 or 1982).
It was produced to be used in France, therefore, without the hopper because payment was prohibited. Gains were posted as a credit to the counter and paid by the bar owner. It does not work, many lamps are lit, but not all, and the display shows "0. . . . ." when  power is "on". I replaced the battery from the motherboard (it sank and I removed the traces of oxidation on its vertical components located), pressing the test buttons or reset does not cause any action.
I downloaded the documents that I found on the site, but I'm not sure where to begin.
Do you know where I can find the manual operator (FO-650-xx) for this machine.
thank you for your advice.

ps: I do not control your language perfectly, so I use the Google translation, so I hope to remain understandable.
