Title: Anyone purchased from Spin, Inc. before?
Post by: DoubleZero on January 06, 2014, 01:48:06 AM
Don't know anything about them, but they seem to have some good stuff. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with them. www.spininc.com.

We've done a little business with them. Got the products, eventually, and the product was as specified. The sales team seemed to be more interested in closing the deal than the shipping department did (it took a couple weeks to ship after payment was made). That being said, we ordered very specific parts that were not advertised on their site.

Stat Freak told me if they find out your machine is for home use they won't even sell to you.

Ozzy (based in the DR) raves about them. He runs the slot divsion for Princess Towers. Their ability to manage his logistics is a big plus for him.
From a personal perspective as a home user I found them expensive and never did buy anything.

That may be true. I think they have a minimum $$$ order somewhere on their site. They didnt seem to be into the "onesie-twosie" thing...

I don't think the home-user is their target audience.

You would think that they sell to the home user,
they have PE & PE+ LCD conversion kits.

Maybe it was Star that had the minimum...sorry, too many FL slot companies with four letter names starting with S!!!! Like I said, I got my parts, but not without a little hitch.

The Ceronix website has LCD dropins for $377 - 4 year warranty and a $45 out of warranty replacement.
The Spin Inc price is $371

I would be interested how Spin Inc built their conversion.

I would love a LCD monitor in my PE+ but I would rather put the $400 towards a Game King given the choice.

This is helpful - thanks guys. I don't know if I'll ultimately engage them or not, but they do have some glass I'm interested in and their replacement buttons are priced right. We'll see.

For what it's worth, everything I've bought from them as come lightening fast, even as a home user.  I've only bought a few items over the last few years and they have all been posted on their site.  :Dave

I'm surprised you got anything from them...I tried about 5 years ago?
They didn't even reply back to my emails.
I came away with the impression that they didn't want to sell anything to a "slot homeowner"
Maybe they've changed their policy?

My shipping took awhile, but I was ordering specific revision boards, and they needed to be tested, so it sounds like results vary a bit. Overall, they are fine to buy from. If they have what you want at a price that is worth it to you, then buy from them.

Hello Everyone!

We just came across this conversation online and thought we would chime in to answer some of your questions and get you up to speed on some of the changes we are up to... My name is Jose, and I am the webmaster and IT Director for Spin Inc. If you should have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Do we sell to home users?

Yes, Spin does sell to the home user. We would love to ship to all home users, however there are some states that we cannot ship to because of the State Legislature. Some states allow parts and machines over a certain age (usually 25 years old), but we just don't carry games that are that old.

The following states ALLOW the private ownership of all types of gaming machines regardless of their age: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Kentucky, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island, Utah, Virginia & West Virginia.

You can find it on our new site here: http://www.spininc.com/t/conditionsofUse (http://www.spininc.com/t/conditionsofUse)

In the past, we didn't really sell to home users, but we are definitely interested in doing so. We just weren't ready to do this in the past, but now we are launching a new website that will facilitate this and make lots of parts available to you.

What's with the new website?

Yes, we are in the process of launching a new website to better serve our customers. Our old site was a bit cumbersome and limited and outdated. It did not allow for online shopping and was not 100% updated. So, we decided to launch something new. We are now in the process of launching a new website for Spin, Inc.

The new site can be found at www.SpinInc.com. Among the list of improvements are real online shopping and a community forum where you could ask questions and advice from our staff and other users. Please visit it at your leisure and let us know if you have any questions.

Here is the link to the new support forum, please feel free to participate. It is brand new, but our techs are monitoring messages: http://www.spininc.com/boards (http://www.spininc.com/boards)

For the time being, online ordering is still disabled on the site. However. this will be fully functional within the next couple weeks. If you need anything at all, please contact us:

   By Phone: 954-628-3000
   By Email: sales@spininc.com

We will be happy to process your orders by phone until our website's cart is activated. It should be up within the next few days, we are just putting the finishing touches on the site and have a couple more categories to finish.

What do we have to offer?

Well, just about anything you need... We've got a huge variety of used parts available. Far more than we even list on our website at the current time (but we are working on getting them all online in time). If you need anything at all, and you can't find it on our new site, please contact us. Chances are we have it in the boneyard or can get it within a few days. We have a great assortment machines  from Aristocrat, Atronic, Bally, Williams, Novomatic and many others on hand. Lots of new parts too.

We offer board repair services too! Cost is $95 flat rate, any board, any fault. You can send in your boards, if we can fix it you are only out the $95 plus shipping. Please check our new website for more information on that. The page can be found here: http://www.spininc.com/t/BoardRepair (http://www.spininc.com/t/BoardRepair)

We offer phone-support for your gaming machines. We can even offer support via Skype. This live support is available for $65 per hour, but you could try the free tech forum first. Here is the link for that information: http://www.spininc.com/t/PhoneSupport (http://www.spininc.com/t/PhoneSupport)

Thanks again for commenting on our company. Spin has been around for over thirty years now, and we are still going strong. Our techs are unbelievably knowledgeable and have just about seen it all. Plus, our huge inventory makes it easy to get what you need. Please look for the official launching of our new website very soon.

Sincerely,

Jose Gonzalez

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome, we are glad to be here. There does seem to be much activity on this forum. I'm actually very happy I stumbled across the discussion online.

Like I said, we've got lots and lots of used parts at real low prices. Many of them are just very hard to find online. We are working hard to get more and more of them on our site. There is still a lot of work to do as far as that is concerned. So, if you need something and can't find it on the website please drop us a line. We will be happy to help you out.

Thanks again,

Jose

Welcome to the site, Jose, and I'm glad to hear that you folks will be selling to the home market soon.  It's always great to have another resource for parts that can sometimes be very hard to find.  Thanks again for your post, and we encourage your continued participation here, too!

Jose, I'm glad you found us and decided to reply.   :238- :88-

To answer the previous posts, I did buy from them twice back in the day, but they thought that I was a dealer with a DOJ and once they found out that I wasn't they refused to sell to me, even though it was only glass and strips. I did live in one of those 25 year states at the time, but those items weren't restricted in my state; rather, it was Florida's laws where Spin, Inc, operates that were the issue, because FL treats anything that comes off a machine as restricted, even if it's trivial or only decorative. There was never any mention of a minimum order, but then I ordered several pieces of glass each time. It was kind of a kid in a candy store experience!

Their prices were a bit high, but they had glass no one else had -- which was why I placed my first order to begin with, and my second order as well. I now live in a legal state so I'm glad to know that I can buy from them now if I wish. :71-

My two purchasing experiences were excellent. They packed the glass in the same type of foam cases that IGT and Bally use for new kits and I received the orders quickly. At the time, they had WAY more inventory than they displayed online. It was a matter of deciding which rare pieces of glass I wanted and then asking for them.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks StatsFreak, DoubleZero and Nnagl. It really is good to be here. Sorry about the delay in getting back to posting on the forum. We've been busy working on the website and I have found it difficult to find the time lately...

I wanted to put the word out on some things. First, we've just added more product to our website and are continuing to do so on a daily basis. Our goal is to put everything we carry on the website. But, we've got over 20,000 individual parts in our inventory and even more on items we have in the boneyard that have not been entered into our inventory. It will take some time. But in the end, we will have the largest selection of new and used parts available online.

We've started a new bi-monthly mailing list with great promotions on products and services like board repair and tech services!  :204- For now, we are sending them out twice a month. But my goal is to have something going out on a weekly basis. We absolutely will not be sharing your email addresses with any third parties. So if you sign up on the website, we are the only people that will be sending you email. You could always opt out of future mailings by clicking the "My Account" link and turn off the newsletter feature.

We would also like to extend a discount to anyone who registers on our website from New Life Games. We've noticed a bunch of traffic hitting our site that has come from this one and would like to thank you. You can save 5% on your next order by using the following discount code during checkout: NLG

Plus, every customer who signs up on our site gets another discount code just for registering. This is a new promotion that we've started today. So, those who have previously registered on our site can still take advantage of it. Just use the following discount code during checkout: WELCOME

I do need to address the issue of legal and non-legal states... We would love to sell to everyone under the sun, but unfortunately it is each individual state's laws that dictates who we can and cannot ship to. If we get caught selling into a non-legal state, we could loose our DOJ status. We've been in business for over 30 years and would like to keep it that way. Unfortunately, we don't carry parts for 25 year old machines. So, we could really only ship to addresses in the following states:

Alaska
Arizona
Arkansas
Kentucky
Maine
Maryland
Minnesota
Nevada
Ohio
Rhode Island
Texas
Utah
Virginia
West Virginia

If you guys are looking for something that is not on the site yet, please feel free to email us at sales@spininc.com. We will be happy to look into it for you. Like I said, we've got lots and lots of parts not on the site yet.

Thanks again for the warm welcome guys. It really is good to be here. Don't forget to register on our site so you can receive emails on our promotions.

Sincerely

Jose
