Title: Old Lucky Chance Slot Machine
Post by: capt7310 on February 06, 2014, 10:41:03 AM
Hello first time user hope I dont screw this up. I recently acquired an old (1994) Lucky Chance Slot, It seems to work Ok but I'm missing a part or something I cannot use the coin drop there is a bracket or piece missing that will not let the quarters pass through the sensor. Hope the photos can solve this mystery. Thanks Paul :99-

The slot was built in 1994 works great "other" than a piece that is missing not allowing the coins to drop into the hopper. I spoke with a person in Fla. who sold these slots and he told me he sold over 5000 of them , but yes hasn't done anything in the last 10yrs. So I know someone has to have this slot out there. If I can just see a photo of this slots coin drop mechanism I might be able to figure it out. Even better maybe someone has one that's not working and willing to sell. I can us for parts. Thanks for any help Paul

We sold about 1500 of those in nj , there has to be 20 to 30 brands  each used different  coin  works , so finding the one you need is not easy  , to me it looks like the 2 coin sensing  optic are not there , the tokens were timed between 2 spots on most of them . jap law they could only use them for 2 years that why there  are so many around , container would hold up to 480 of them   depending on who packed it .and weekly there where auctions for many  full loads .for 6 months before we move south we would put 1 in trash each trash day  and got rid of 50 part machines , we took a 100 south ,where  I betted that we would not sell any  , I have 17 left  and sold them for more down here than in nj  in nj they were only electric slots you could sell

You say it seems to work...Have you ever gotten it to actually work?...These machines use tokens that are larger then quarters and need to be modified if you are going to use quarters...It is usually a simple mod...Maybe post a short video if it does work and how you got it to work...

some types had a slide that you could adjust to make quarters work

Thanks for all the return messages. If slotsteve has any parts kicking around my slot is a 1994 Lucky Chance by Okazaki Type-A 5 lines. That's all I have. I have to physical open the door and pass a quarter  through the sensor, I can get the slot to work either credit or straight payout. I can swipe the quarter through the sensor to add 50 credits and then play and all works I've even hit jackpot for a credit which dropped 15 quarters for 8 plays if that is right which I think is correct. Again I acquired the slot from an friend, who got it with this piece missing he just went to surrender. I am by no means an expert but I do believe there is just a piece missing. If anyone has some photos to give me an idea. Thanks all for your help. Paul

If it just the slide piece you think your missing, I have gone to a hobby store and purchased some balsa wood and made my own...Just a little hot glue or silicone and some creativity and you should be good to go...

it has to be just rite some have a edge on them for the coin to ride on not something you can make out of wood we had some come in that the coin parts were rusted  taking the rust off them  made bad spots on the slide which slowed the coin down and the game would tilt, worse part there are so many makes of those games  parts have to be just rite

Thanks again this is very frustrating I'm right there, I no it's one simply piece missing, every thing works great. I say that because I down loaded an manual that's close to my slot and whats going on seems to be correct. Mr. D yes I'm afraid I my have to get creative, just would like to keep it original but I'll keep trying somebody has to have one out there. I'm not looking to sell it because a friend gave it to me he knows I have a very cool bar setup and kinda donated it and it has been fun. Again thanks to all for the insight. Paul

I think the piece you  have , might be right   is just missing a screw and spring  it might be the coin guide  you need you need to get rid of the rust so coins will  roll smooth
