hi all, new member here...i have a E2270 with LOTS of problems but first i'll start with codes  6_._.0.6.  the tilt light is on, the coin accepted light is on and the insert coin light is on....if i turn the power swtich on and off a couple times in a row the first 6 will switch to a 4 but 99% of the time it's a 6  i guess that's enough for now.... i've been reading posts and answers in the bally section and you seem to have some pretty smart folks here!!   thanks in advance....bob

I'm not a expert as some of the others here know more than I.
But from my Bally book, that is a memory failure code.
I would check the connections on the main board and
the voltage on the battery.

Removing the board is best.
It will give you a chance to
look over the board and
reset the chips.

Resetting the chips is to very carefully remove the chips that are in sockets
checking that they are put in the sockets correctly and no bent pins.
Chips that are soldered on should not be removed unless they are found to be bad.
Removing and reinstalling them will help clean the oxidization from the socket
pins. Look over the board for cold solder joint and any burnt spots.

Hope this helps.

hey paul..well i soldered the batteries in both machines (i went and had another one made)...since i didn't see an email from you earlier i did what you said and took boards out....BUT i did NOT plug and unplug the chips...i'll have to do that as the code did change but i still have no clue whats going on...here's the new code  (by the way the first # changes to a 4 when i do what i did before )   (4)   0_._.06.  i have no idea what the periods are (or anything else for that matter)
the good thing is is that the tilt light and coin accepted light did go out (so did the insert coin light...bummer on that)  i can take the board back out tomorrow and play with the chips and see what happens then....thanks bob

Hi  Bob

Here is the page on trouble codes from the Bally book.
The 6 is the code for memory failure and the 4 is which
memory chip is failing.
Some times the legs on the chips oxidize and
loose connection in the socket.
Removing and reinstalling it removes the
oxidation and the problem goes away.

Hope this helps clear things up some.
Paul
