Battery IGT IGAME board

Hi guys
I have a board that indicates main battery low. I replaced it but still get the message along with "options verification required"
even after clear.

Did you test the battery voltage?  I always check it since I have come across duds before.

I have changed all 3.6 volt batteries on my boards AA type rechargeable Nicad cells. I bought some 3 cell battery holders and  mounted the battery holder on standoffs on the board. As my boards spend a lot of time out of the machine I can recharge spare cells and insert them in the holder as required. Another advantage is that if a cell leaks its not going to damage the board.

I have New Zealand  980 game king board which are a little different. your board I think will have a button cell on board to supply ram as well as the 3.6 volt battery.  I think the quarts inputs lists both batteries in its readouts.
To get to the readouts on my machines I press the test switch on the board (by the LEDs) then press the diagnostics menu, then the logic board? (bottom of 5 choices) then  next page. has security door main door drop door and at the bottom of the list battery 1 battery 2
 
my board has batteries piggy backed on the ram chips themselves and a resistor in place of the button cell
