When you touch up a slot glass, the problem is with the transparency of the paint. We've tried using black sharpies to touch up old EM glass, and it was not perfect.  no  Best way I found was to touch up your chip/spot, then wipe all the excess from the surrounding area. (If the surrounding area is covered, then it is darker when lit.) Michaels (and other craft stores) sell a glass paint that is transparent, but almost too transparent. May take 2 coats? I have not tried this, so it may be a viable option, but has a tendency to leave brush marks.

We donated a machine for a fundraiser and had a customer belly glass name with the groups name & logo. Luckily for us, it was a houndmen/hunting group, so their logo was pretty cool! We were able to get it done by a sign shop locally that makes those wraps for cars. We didnt want to risk screwing it up, so we just put in on a thin piece of plexi (like what cheap picture/poster frames use for the"glass", and then installed a piece of clear glass (cut to belly size) over it in thea belly frame to protect it. It actually looked great, and was super easy to do. Next time, we will install a brighter light behind it though, as the film is not as transparent as the paint Bally used.

I will post a pic of it if i can find it.
