Yes, exactly.  I believe the candle light may be a different voltage but you can swap the bulb.

Oh sorry Wayne...my bad. Yes, the light in the button itself will always come on no matter the configuration.

so to recap, to can either tap into the button wires and run it to the candle (wife drink alert light) which would be easiest, or use a relay to run different voltage to the candle.  I'd try the button light power myself.  Don't forget to disconnect the current source from the candle first.

Ford my good man!  Yeah, it has become more like an obsession.  In this thread for example, I was ready to have the door closed by idesign, and then here comes ol Wayne with another idea to open that door right back up!  The fun never stops.  Hope all is well with you.
