Hey all, First post. My question is do I need some sort of different chip for the board to convert my Wild Cherry Machine to have back lit Reels? Or can someone tell me what exactly I do need to convert this? And can a total slot noob like myself perform this conversion? Any help much appreciated.

Without some pictures of the inside of your machine I can only guess at what you will need:

Back Lit reels
controller board with mounting plate and cover
back lit reel harness
cabinet i/o to back lit controller harness
power to the back lit controller

Now depending on when your machine was made the 3 harnesses may be already there just not used.
Try to take some clear pictures just below the reel shelf of the wiring and maybe behind the reels as well.

Ok ill get some pics tonight to post. I know it was assembled in the year 2000
