I would like to replace my 5500's reel florescent light bulb with one that's a clean bright white  -  Right now it looks kind of yellow next to the IGT.   Is there a clean white replacement?  I'd like to get it from MCMElectonics when I order the white LED bulbs.

Thanks

I took the old bulb out and it is a Philips FT14T8/CW/15 14Watt.

Thanks to StatFreak's post of florescent bulbs I now know that this is

F is florescent
14 is for 14 watts
T is for Tubular bulb.
8 is the Diameter of tube in of eighths of an inch. T8 is 1"
CW is for Cool White

I guess now my question has changed - I looked both the S+ and 5500 - to see why the 5500 would look so yellow and disgusting.    Scratch Head
It looks like the reflector on the 5500 is yellow or turned yellow where on the s+ it is a nice clean white.

Has anyone noticed this?  Or am I a crazy nut who belongs in a straight jacket?

No, your not crazy, I'm sure all the machines we buy should be cleaned. The reflector backing, inside of the glass and even the bulbs themselves develop a coating from the smoke, heat and dust.

Hail Hail Hail Hail Hail Hail Hail Hail Hail Hail Hail
You are a genius - It had caked on yellow tar - even after the first cleaning it looks TEN times more white and clean looking.

I thought I cleaned the machine well -  but now I know I haven't even touched the surface.

I found that using  the flourescent bulbs/tubes that have "D" meaning "Daylight" at the end instead of "CW" "Cool White" are much whiter. Very nice bright white light. They are not dull and yellowish like the CW. Try it you'll like it!
