I followed these prodcedures,,,,but all thiese two avp I worked on are both rebooting.....is there a step or something that I did was wrong because these both avp were working before I followed these steps.. I never made it to step 14 because all it does is reboot...can someone help me please.....
6.   Remove old license Dongle and put in E-7 & Diagnostic USB thumb drives and power up
7.   Press Package Removal
8.   Put all packages to the right side to remove. Warning, if you do this you also remove the OS, so make sure you have an OS USB to reload the OS
9.   Press REMOVE PACKAGES and press CONTINUE to delete all Data from Safe Storage, press OK & then press QUIT
10.   Power down and remove Diagnostic USB and insert OS USB and power back up
11.   After OS loaded it will prompt you on when to remove OS and then E-7 and then power down
12.   Put back in E-7 & GAME USB thumb drive, when it completes install it will again tell you to remove Game then E-7
A.   Note: The game USB thumb drive will have the Eprom ID label right on it, it will look like … GIO14005LZ4E001
B.   If it looks like this … PKG: 100002494623          553195-000110, THAT IS NOT AN EEPROM and it wont auto load, it wont do nothing, you will have waisted from 4PM to 9:15 PM like I did till I finally figured it out.
13.   Power back down and put in new game license Dongle USB and power back up
14.   Will get Red screen stating: “Cabinet Config Mismatch” – just reset it with reset key
15.   Will come up next saying “COMMCON FIG Mismatch”, again reset it
16.   Will come up next saying “ALDOWNLOAD Config Mismatch”, again reset
17.   AVG screen will pop up for a few seconds, then game will say “CONFIG Verification required”, against reset TWICE

Hmm ... between steps 9 and 10, did you put the write-enable jumper in?  The jumper is required to write back to the HD.  You can delete, but not install unless the jumper is in place.  It's a 6-pin jumper that goes on the brain box.

What brain box are you using?.  3.0 or 3.5's do not need a jumper as they just have a toggle switch now for write/enable.  Was kinda fuzzy to figure out what you are using.  The jumper is requried for the old stuff.  You may even have 2.5 upgraded to 3.0 ?.  The software may not work with older if that is what you are doing- Scratch Head. Just more info would help as there are not many here that know about avps and esp. the 3.0/3.5 platforms-etc.

It's been awhile since I removed packages on my AVP 2.5, but it seems there was one other option in the Diagnostics page that I had to perform to not only erase from disk, but to erase from memory too.  I'll have to look when I get home because I can't remember here at work.

What version of boot chips are you using and what version OS?
There are several things that can cause the reboot loop, improper boot chips, incompatible OS. If CMOS clear was used on the board via jumper and Bios was not re setup it can cause it.
That version of The Lovely Outlaws is compatible with AVPSB01410C05 or AVPSB01410D05 and higher boot chips for 2.5 brainboxes
Also, AI should be AI01409H or higher for OS and the diagnostic tool should be DIAGNOSTIC 014-05 or higher.

Dave is right, there should be a wipe option in the diagnostic screen for Safe Storage and Cabinet memory.
If safe storage and cabinet memory aren't both cleared it can cause the issue. Or if the OS didn't get removed in the package removal part as there can only be one OS loaded at a time.

If all else fails, you can wipe the entire drive and power off, plugin ONLY AI thumb drive, power on and wait for it to ask for ekey, plug it in and wait until  it says "INSTALLATION COMPLETED" and remove ONLY the AI thumb drive and plug in the GI thumb drive and wait until it  says "INSTALLATION COMPLETED" then remove the ekey and GI. Power off for 15 seconds and power on and see what happens.

My bet is on Boot chips

Good morning,

Short of actually clearing my own machine, this is what I believe I did to ensure a full wipe.  Not only did I remove packages as you did, I also went into the Non-Volatile Storage menu and clicked Select All to wipe everything clear.  You may not have to actually wipe the drive, just the Cabinet Memory and Safe Storage (I believe Safe Storage is wiped anyway with a package removal).  So, I believe the key is to wipe the Cabinet Memory.  To be safe, you could just wipe all.

Hope this helps!

The machine is not recognizing that the OS is present. Posibble because of issues during loading or in my experience bad or degraded HDD.

Did you get the Boot chip versions and OS?

That is probably your problem, your boot chips are family 013 boot chips, the GI you are loading is family 014.
Not knowing the AI could be an issue, can you re load the diagnostic and get the OS info from there?
( or, plug in the AI to a laptop, hover your cursor over the zip file, write down rhe AI version in the zip contents ( don't unzip it though)

Figured when you said boot 23, they weren't very common in 2.5 or above.

Did you figure out the OS version?

igt sent this to me with game and dongle

I See,
I have to apologize, I went back and re read your original post, I was thinking the  "GIO14005LZ4E001" listed in the steps was the game you are trying to load. You must have an emulated game since you have a AE operating system.

You have:
OS - AE011043
Bootchips -AVPSB023

What is the game program # you are loading? (if it is not listed, there is a 6 digit alpha numeric number on the license dongle that will help figure out the "GE" game version.
Family 11 (or 013) Emulated games are a little different to load. If you send me your email address, I will send you some documentation on emulated stuff.

Let me know,
David
