from old NLG site...

Just got a Williams I/O driver board for a dotmation that worked by
had no sound. Also had another driver board where the sound was
distorted. David Heller suggusted replacing the TDA2030
amplifier on the sound board. That fixed both boards!
Interestingly i had replaced the TL084 pre-amp on one of
the boards, and that did nothing. Talk about barking up
the wrong tree. hehehe.
