i have a cei poker machine with 904 board , the 5 hold buttons fail to respond, can anyone help

There is a common wire for the hold buttons. Common switch wire "C" connects to board at P101 pin 19 through panel 4 pin 1 (J204).  If OK  game board IC CA3183 switch common is probably bad.

thanks for responding to my posting. the buttons work fine when i install a different. does this mean if i replace the chip you mentioned they will work and will this chip be available most electronics stores. thanks again

On the this repair it is not necessary to replace the whole IC.  One option is to clip pins 6,7,and 8 on U49 and attach a NPN transistor such as a 2N4401,  base  to pin 6, collector to 7, and emitter to 8.

thanks for the info, i don't think i can do repairs on these old boards(no confidence). i have sent these boards out for repair by professionals. hopefully everything will work out well. again thanks for the response.  bill

Billzel, who do you use for board repairs?  I have a working CEI poker machine, but if something happens to a board, a reference would be handy.
