I just finished wiring my wba 12 to an s+.  But it doesn't do anything.  The two led's on the acceptor are steady red, no blinks.   When a bill is placed into the slot, nothing happens.  But when you turn the machine off then on, motors run for a second while reels are resetting. Maybe the dip switches need to be set?  Any help would be great.  Thanks

Is a 12 compatible with the S+?  I know that a WBA 11, as well as a DBV 145 or 200 will work.

Is there any indication as to what ID that WBA 12 is set to?  I know that an S+ requires ID022 or ID023, depending on the SP chip in the game.  Any other ID will not work.

Also, have you used a SET chip to enable the bill validator in the machine?  They're not enabled by default.

I used the set chip and activated as required.  The validator is new and all the dip switches came set to off.  There is a number on the acceptor that reads

I may be wrong, and someone more knowledgeable than me can confirm or correct this, but I believe that the odd numbers
WBA11, 13 etc are for IGT and the even numbers WBA12 etc are for WMS games.  Check with Jim at Blueridge slots, I'll bet ya he knows!  yes

There are many bill acceptor threads on NLG.
Go to the search and type in WBA12 and see what comes up. yes
I'm sure Blueridge is pretty busy and must be frustrated to answer the same questions over and over... Duh!
That's what the "search box" is for...It's up there on every webpage on NLG.
It's free and you are very welcome to use it. yes
Here's one of many bill acceptor threads that might help you>>>

Here's a little info on WBA bill validators.  A WBA10 and WBA11 are interchangeable.  The WBA10 is a flash unit, and the WBA11 is an eprom unit.  next, both WBA12 and WBA13 are interchangeable, the WBA12 is a flash unit and the WBA13 is an eprom unit.  The bill heads themselves on all of the aforementioned WBA validators are all interchangeable, the transports/chassis are where the differences lie.  The newer IGT S-Plus' usually had either a WBA10 or WBA11, where as the S2000 would have a WBA12 or WBA13.  These are obviously not the only models of BVs that came with these machines, however the most common.  The software protocol is different from an S-Plus to an S2000 machine, The S-Plus is ID022/23, the S2000 is ID024.  I seem to think that there was ID022/23 software for the WBA12/13 series which would make it work.  I'm not sure when or if the support(updates) stopped for the S-Plus.  I will look

Thanks,
Wayne

Here is a link to the WBA12/13ss software release that would be the latest.  http://old.jcm-american.com/docs/software/w12_37503i_usa_id022.pdf  looks good

I have attached pictures of the WBA 10/11 and 12/13.

The unit on the left is the 10/11 and the right is the 12/13. Notice the difference where the unit plugs into the back of the DBV frame housing. The metal tabs is for the 10/11 and the female connection is the 12/13.

The latest software that I have seen for the S+ is V3.6 (for either unit) which accepts the new 10 and earlier released bills.

The DBV200 is still fully supported until the new magnetic 100's come out.  The DBV200's lack the sensors for this.

For the S+ platform ID 22/23 IGT requested that JCM not release the code for the new colored $5's.
So it does not matter what unit you have DBV200, WBA 11,12,13 you can't have any updates for bills newer than the colored $10's for the S+ platform.

However on the S2000 platform (ID 24) all are fully supported.

Jay,
I would ask that you look at the pdf file I linked, it shows the new $5 for ID022/23.  unless I'm reading it incorrectly

Version 3.75-03i for WBA12/13

This software is approved for use in NV, CA, MN, MI but it can only be obtained from Patriot Gaming. Patriot paid for it to go through approvals so they acquired the rights. According to a note I found, you may need to have a NV or appropriate tribal gaming license to get it, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I have tried for almost 2 months now to get them to talk to me about them, good luck, you have to buy a license, and the guy I talked to said they would only flash units,  I know a place that has them upgraded already but not cheap, and I don't think they will do just 1 at a time
