Just set the DSP chip aside...you don't need it unless your machine has the enhanced board already.  The game will play and pay correctly without using the extra chip in a standard 501, 502, or 504 board.

Good to know but that takes all fun out of mission creep.

Deffiniton of mission Creep is when you start out to complete a task or project and keep finding things to fix on it until the project no longer resemble what you started with. usually with great cost and no apparent benefit.  Scratch Head Scratch Head

Thanks

bust gut laughing Okay then, if you wish to change out to an enhanced board for no reason or benefit, then be sure you pick up the enhanced board back plane that is necessary for it to work.

No....my understanding of the enhanced board and it's advantages, aside from a slightly faster boot up, is that if offers the casino's faster, more enhanced player tracking and security functions.  So for the typical home user it really serves no purpose.   I could be wrong but I have gone through a few sets of software now that had the added DSP chip....installed them on a standard 502 or 504 board, minus that chip, and the game seems to play without any changes in the game play or sound.
