Credit window & coins played,  are the same. Each time a coin is dropped, the credit window display is the same as , Coins Played, What's up with that??
How do you clear the credit window so it stays  blank until you actually  have credits?

I've never heard of this...You really need to upload a photo of the display.   yes
Other than this display problem -  does the game play?

Will the machine take coins beyond the limit? Sounds interesting.

I have a Uni 8116 board I shorted once and now it always has a four in the win meter rather than zero. Opps!

Okay,
IFFV emailed me the pictures of the messed up display.
I've re-sized them and posted them for her.
I've never seen this before.
I'm thinking there was a short somewhere on either
the motherboard traces or the MPU board.

I would first try to perform a ram clear using an IVC123 clear chip.
This chip can be had from any of our esteemed vendors on the top of the home page.
Using/reading up on Rick's FAQ Files will show you how to do clear chipping.
Another way that some people have luck with is to remove the CMOS chip
and ground the legs of the chip on some metal.
Putting the grounded chip back in will sometimes reset everything
but if you have a DBV, then you will also need the proper SET chip to re-enable the bill acceptor.

I'm hoping the clear chip will put things back in order.
Apparently one of the gates for the display chip is stuck either open or
closed and causing weird and incorrect digit signals to the display.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that all it needs is a clear.
Worse case scenario is that the MPU board is shorted and needs to be replaced.

Is there anything under the motherboard on the floor? Loose coins?

I'ved noticed in this photo you sent me that there's
a mini-photon progressive display installed behind the top award in the Top Box.
It's obviously not programmed as there is only a decimal point for "cents".
Can you read up on this link I'm attaching here>> http://www.newlifegames.net/spset/SPSS.htm
to tell us what SP and SS chips you have installed on the MPU board?
I can give you detailed instructions on how to set up that display.

I'd check the small board for that progressive display as well to see if it is shorted out on the topbox floor.
That would cause major display problems as well.
I used to place a small piece of plywood under it so it wouldn't short out on the topbox floor.

Quoted from email>>>

I just went back to the machine & it said 3 credits & 3 coins played.
Problem is there are no credits because I cashed them out.
I put in 1 coin & the credits say 1 coin. Play 2 coins & it says 2
credited. Play 3 coins & it says 3 credits. Put in 4 coins & it drops
through.
When you have credits built up than you get the 8, 9, or backward 6.

The 4th coin should drop through to the tray as it is only a 3 coin game.
Unless you have a special "Montana Credits" SP chip.
This particular chip will allow all coins to go to credit.

i got it fixed but i really don't know what I did.
it was either a loose connection on the led board or the CPU board.

It is working & I would like to say thank you to Bunker & Goldfinger.
