Hi,
I have a Dragons Gold I-game that I am running the Game king 5.0 software on. When I bought it, it was no coin bills in and ticket out only, the coin slot was blocked and coin guts removed.

The guy gave me all the coin guts but the coin shute, I had a frind of mine with a laser jig whatever make me a new shute from scratch. It works and looks just like the original!

Small problem has come up. Game works great but rarely about twice a day it will give me "coin in jam" on the screen (took a pic of it), still counts the coin and it gos in the hopper like it should but gives that message.  I open/close the door and everything gos back to normal.

I dont know if this has anything to do with it but, when I first hooked everything up the little plastic thing (below the comparter) that makes the coin ether go into the hopper or the base was directing them into the base, not down the shute and in the hopper. SO I disconected the cylinoid that pushes the plastic thing and it has made the coins go in the hopper sence.

Any help will be great! Thanks.

First, make sure that the harness to the optics is in good shape and well connected.

You might want to check and clean the coin-in optics.

Do NOT use alcohol; it will damage the optics!  You can carefully use compressed air, but be careful not to blow particles deeper into the components. You can also use a Q-tip lightly moistened with water and gently dry it with the other end. You can also add a drop or two of liquid soap to the water, but then you should follow the cleaning with another Q-tip moistened with clean water.

Also check that the coin path is clean and unobstructed. The slot expects the coin to be falling at a certain speed and will tilt if the coin is moving too slowly.

By the way, did I mention NOT TO USE ALCOHOLwave Crazy bust gut laughing bust gut laughing bust gut laughing rotflmao rotflmao rotflmao

Thanks for the advise, I will try that.

I am shure this has been beaten to death  frying pan a million times, but what is everyones opinon on leaving slots on or off? I have all ready heard about them in the night w/no lights, but serious. Especially wondering about the Jackpot stampede deluxe w/it's notorious power supply ? On or off? I usually let them run during the day and off at night.

There are plenty of arguments on both sides, but the majority opinion is to turn them off when not in use.

The Dotmations have another issue (aside from the PS), which is that the dot screen has a limited life. The screen will fade over time and should be conserved. It also develops "burn-in" as it burns out, tends to overheat. So, in addition to turning the machine off when it will not be used for more than a day or two, I also recommend shutting the dot screen off whenever you're not actually playing it.

You can do that simply by turning the jackpot key to enter bookkeeping mode. The machine will stay in book mode and the Dot screen will shut off completely until you choose to exit by pressing the Max Bet button to move completely through the menus (should be 11 times).

WOW. Do you mean even when you turn the machine off by hitting the red button, the DOTmation screen stays on? I did not know that, every time I turn off the machine the DOT display turns black. Is it realy still on ( even thoe it's black) and not showing any display?

If it is realy staying on, I can just turn it off by turning the surge strip off so the machine gets no power at all? Right?

Thanks for all the help i am shure it's common sense for some of you.

No, I apologize for being unclear. When you turn the machine off, the Dot screen turns off with it.

What I meant is that you can turn the Dot display off while the machine is still on by going into bookkeeping mode. I do this if I am going to leave the machine on for the day or for the weekend, but am not playing it at the moment. There is no need to let the Dot sit there burning in for hours when no one is enjoying the machine.

The idea here is that it is overkill to turn the machine on and off several times over a weekend of play (and I believe that this behavior would actually do more harm than good), but that it is a good idea to conserve your dot screen as much as possible.

Sorry about the confusion. I hope this helps. yes
