Running into a problem with I game  "freezing"  only during the bonus round.  ( Game theme: Fortune Cookie ).   LCD monitor.

Thought, perhaps  eproms / simms are faulty... replaced with another set of eproms / simms.   Same issue... game will freeze  ONLY in the bonus rounds... AND  not all the time while machine is in bonus round  will it freeze... some time will freeze in bonus round...sometimes not !  Scratch Head

Otherwise "regular"  game play ...no problems whatsoever.

Anyone encountered this ?    LCD issue ?  ( Innolux LCD ).... or   Power Supply issue ?   or ???

Thanks.

sounds very strange...i would suspect possibly a bad mpu since you have already eliminated software.  post your program versions anyways and i'll check IGT's website for any CN's that are associated; maybe it is an issue with your version of the software?

Actually, I have the same problem with Monster Mansion with a CRT. Freezes sometimes during bonus or when game is idle for a long period of time, no button or touchscreen response.

My Game King will do this from time to time in the setup menus for whatever reason.  I have a CRT.  Never had it happen during gameplay though.  I've swapped games and have seen the same behavior.

CRT or LCD monitor shouldn't make any difference, the monitors only function is to display whatever video the game sends it.  yes a machine can actually function with no problems without any monitor of any kind; simillarly a reel game will still function without reel strips installed, the player just won't have any idea what's going on.  Crazy
the suggestion of replacing the power supply is worth a try also but i still think there is an mpu or software issue since it only happens during the bonus round. Duh! Duh!

Reed, I can't tell you how bad I want to do that.  That statement is like putting a bottle of whiskey in an alcoholic's hand and saying "you might like it."  LOL!!!

That one would be a SUPER tough sell to my wife after buying a Game King AND an S2000 all within a 30 day period!

Well, it's OK to use the CRT but you will save electricity and $ in the long run if you buy that replacement. There is another thread on here about using a regular old flat panel and a special CGA inverter? I don't know, do a search. I think it was an ELO touch screen and Rocket said you can't use that with IGT products, etc, etc. 3m touch screen, etc ,etc......lots of banter back and forth. Just do a search on ELO touchscreen.
