Well It worked for about 12 quarters then went back to rejecting them.  I think it has to do with the magnet that runs the diverter thing in the back.  If I take it apart and wire wheel it and move it around it works, then goes back to rejecting.  So I will have to wait for the new one.

The rectangular hole cutout for the rake is quite narrow.
There is very little rake adjustment allowance via the 2 screws that
hold the solenoid to the metal coin comparator casing.
I'd try loosening those two screws and see if you can get a better
alignment with the rake so it doesn't ouch the hole opening.
Once you see that the rake isn't touching the edges of the hole - tighten up the 2 screws.

You can also physically bend the rake's arm a little to get it slightly closer
to the magnet so when it's energized - it pulls it better?
Don't bend it too much towards the magnet though or the
rake won't get out of the way of the coins falling through.

Take it off completely...lol
Why would a slot homeowner want the coins to get rejected & fall back into the tray?

I will try messing with it and see what I can come up with.  It seems to stop taking quarters if I have to open the door and reclose it.  Might keep working might not.  Intermittent problems are the worst!!

Intermittent problems are basically caused by two things -
one>> a connection is loose.
two>> a connection heats up and becomes loose.

One way to check your comparator to put it in the freezer for 1 hour
then take it out and install it in your machine and try it out.
If the intermittent problem comes back within 15 minutes of game play,
there's a bad trace or cold solder joint on an IC compponent.

I would think if the dor optics had problems nothngi would reset, when the door is closed the game goes through the rest and clears everything(test credits ect.).

I don't think your optics are bad. I'm just wondering if your getting the door latch all the way down so the optics are seeing each other.

I don't know what happend but I filled it with quarters and it has worked without a hitch for a week now!  I couldn't be happier!!  Thanks for all your help and the stuff that was sent via e-mail!!  It will come in handy.  Hopefully now I can one day post a pic of someone with my machine and a JACKPOT!!!  Machine only pays what it has in it though!  HAHA

I need one more thing, I got my wba today, and everything works, but when I put in a bill it spits the credits out in quarters.  Can I change this?  I want it to sty as credits in the machine.  WBA 11 S+

Here it is, Sorry if this posts twice, can you tell me why it says peppers on it?  It is a Wild Cherry machine.  Are the game formats the same?  I bought the head, transport, cashbox, and power supply at the link at the top, Slot Machines LTD. and they were very helpfull.  A big thank you to them.  And also to all of you for the help!!

Anyways, with the power off, remove the MPU and turn dip switch #4 to the off position.
Re-install the MPU and turn on the power switch....leave the door open.
Once the power is on and the machine is booted up, press the little white test button
next to the power switch twice...

Then turn the reset key until you see a single zero in
the Coins Played display and a 8-1 in the Winner Paid display.
Using the spin button, press it until you turn the 1 into a 2.

Then you close the door and you oughta be in business!

No clue whatsoever.  The game itself (Wild Cherry, Hot Peppers, etc.) is determined by the SS chip, not the SP chip.  (The SP chip is kinda like the operating system for the slot, and can (typically) support many different themes.)  It's very strange, but you can pretty much ignore the fact that the word PEPPER is printed on the label.
