On a S+ machine If you play 3-coins, & the % is 95%. Then you play 2-coins in the same machine the % may drop to say 94%. So you have a better chance when using three coins.

On a S2000, where the % is changed with a key chip. Say 97%. Are the odds the same if you use three coins or two.

If you're talking about an S2000 that has the 4 multi-denomination touch-panel on the reel glass -
then no, because most casinos use all 4 different denominations with progressively
higher percentages for the player, on higher denominations.

In other words, expect 85% or worse if you play penny machine. 
They don't want you sitting there all day long playing out your $1.00 bill at maybe .02 cents per pull....!!!

For example: They might set it this way:

Denomination     Percentages
.25 cents       =       85%
.50 cents       =       90%
     $1            =      92%
     $5            =       94%

However, there's some guys here that set up all 4 different denominations
with all of them using the highest percentage for the player. 

If you set up a game like that - then what's the use of having different denominations?
That's like having 3 periods of hockey but you only watch the game - if it's in overtime...

Not to hijack this thread....but ,how many of us with multi denom enabled use different percentages per coin played ?? Or do you set them all to the highest  And still answer the first question if you know the answer

It sounds like you might be mixing apples and oranges.

If you play a 95% S+ 3-coin game and put in 2-coins (less than max bet), the payback percentage will drop slightly if (and because) the top prize is disproportionate. It's not that you have a better chance playing three coins: The number of hits and the odds don't change, you're just not getting full pay on the top payout. This will be true of ANY slot game that pays a disproportionate jackpot for a max bet. Any slot theme whose payouts are all proportional will pay back the same percentage regardless of the number of coins played.

Multi-line games may or may not pay back the same percentage if less than all lines are bet. Again, it depends on the paytable. For the three reel variety, look for disproportionate jackpot payouts for each line. For many of the four and five coin games, check the scatter and bonus pay schedules and rules, as well as the max bet jackpot, to determine if the game holds more for less than max line play.


If you meant that the odds for a 2-coin chip (S+, S2000, or any slot machine) are lower than a 3-coin chip, that will depend on which chips you select and on the particular game. Since the disproportionate jackpot payout for less than ten coin multiplier and line games is often adjusted as the number of coins increases, some 3-coin games will have a second coin disproportionate payout that is lower (per coin bet) than the third coin payout, but higher than the first*. This will create small differences in the payout percentage, even if the two and three coin chips are otherwise designed the same.  In some cases, they aren't designed the same way, so that will add to the differences.


Bunker is also right. If you change denomination on the same S2000 slot in a casino, it is reasonable to expect (although not always) that the payout percentage will rise and fall with the denomination, but this has nothing to do with how many coins are bet. Once more, if you're talking about swapping SB chips to change from a three coin to a two coin version of the same game, the previous paragraph applies.


<ADD>  *  For example, the jackpot on a 2cm 5-Times Pay pays 2000 for 1 for one coin, and 5000 for 1 for two coins. However, the 3cm version pays 2000 for 1 for one coin, 2500 for 1 for two coins, and 5000 for 1 for three coins.
