i get error 21 on my slot machine. i have changed the coin optic board with no luck-  i have also changed the door optics with no luck.    when i turn on the machine  the reels dont spin and get error 21 so i move the lever to open door  error 21 disappers for about 10-15 seconds and re appers and reelsdont move but when i move the lever 21 dissapears and while still playing with lever to open door it seems like the reels want to move someone please helpme?

Do you know for sure if the replacement optics are good?  You can go into the self test mode (input/output tests) and test them.

how do i do that  im new to this - if had this machine for seven years so really never messed with it and never had any other error codes come on  any help willbe greatly appreciated

Follow the directions here to get the SP chip number (unless you know for sure what is in there). This will help to give the right self test directions.

Here is the PSR for the SP1271. Go to the group 3 input tests. There you can test the coin A, B and C optics. Let us know what they show.

i press the reset buton until i got to 10 1    i  then used the reset key and jumped to 11  1  flipped the key again and it showed 12  0   im not sure if thats what i needed to do  and all these numbers show up under winner paid

It sounds like you did it right.  While on each of the tests (10, 11, & 12) slide something in where a coin goes to break the beam (a strip of cardboard works well).  They should change from 1 to 0.

It looks like the coin in C optic is bad, as it shows 12 0 for you without something in there to break the beam.  It may just be dirty or have a dust bunny in there, but if you just changed them, probably not.

I would try the test with the original optics too.  It's not uncommon to have wiring problems cause this, as well.

i folded a business card in half slid it in  10 1 stays the same  11 1  goes to 11  0 and  as soon as i remove it goes back to 11 1 and 12 0 stay the same hopefully im following the steps correctly

Try it with your other optics for comparison. You may have two bad optics boards.

i tried my old optic board  and started messing with it until i noticed that i got all 10 -1   11- 1-  12-1   and my mcachine seems to work know.   poppa and anothertech  u guys are great thank you for all your guys help u r the best  thanks  i been messing with this machine for the longest time thanks thanks thanks
