I have these three Universal machines which keep on losing LED display very frequently and I keep on doing a SAFERAM clear to get the LED display back! Sometimes they also show error 12 despite the Lithium batteries been good! I belive the problem could be in the power supply. Does anyone have suggestions to fix this? Are they the ultra model?  If so it will say on the glass.  Also all 3 machines are acting the same?

not familiar with the ultra series, but the older universals used a NICAD battery, not a lithium.

ultra also uses nicad which if the battery is any good at all the 12 will go away after it is powered on for awhile.

JonesK,
These are older Universals. Ultra Series error 12 0 is program runaway and 12 1 is over credit limit.
Error 12 on older Uni's says "battery polarity" on error sheet posted in the door. Don't be fooled by this it is really loss of memory that is caused by lack of voltage to the ram chip.
Sounds like they are doing this while powered on. If so I have a few questions. Are all three doing it at the same time on the same circuit?
Strange that three machines have the same problem. Unless those are actually lithium batteries and not nicad. Must be nicad in Universals.
If they are all on same circuit then I would monitor the circuit. This is not a common problem that would be seen on three machines at a time. Unless you have several machines.
