payout problem 1

i have a bally not sure of the model but it is a tic tac toe i picked this up a few months back and i am trying to get it going almost there except:
it pays 2 5 10 14  and 18 coins there are also pays for various awards for tic or toe appearing now these all payout fine
the award card says tic tac toe in view pays 18 but this does not work
there are 4 "major " awards
50 coins 100 coins
150 coins 200 coins
all pay fine except the 150 coins which is the tic tac toe this pays 5 coins any ideas of where to look first

ok its a lovely sunny day just right for being in the shed so i had another look and thought i`d bump this post
the 8 balls only pays 25 coins 

tic tac toe in view does not pay at all and tic tac toe pays 5 coins only
im wondering if the toe is not being seen

there are no identification marks on the machine but suspect its a 742a
i have posted a few photos as well

You've got 9 or 10 different symbols per reel, so that's gotta be using up a fair portion of your reel boards.
I'd check your reel wipers first, because with pay cuts, you can often adjust for the deep cuts, and yet be off on your shallow cuts. The more different symbols you have, the harder it is to adjust the wipers.
You want the reel wipers to cleanly hit on the center of the reel buttons, not half-way.
Set up the shallowest cut and check the wiper positions.
Set up the deepest cuts, and also check.
Give it a good eyeball look, all the way down the wipers.
Also check the wiring side of the boards to see if a jumper has come loose.
Pay special attention to your 3rd reel.
If you have room, put a piece of masking tape near the top of your boards, and map out where each of the symbols hits, if you want to get a better overview.
Of course there is a sloppy way to quick check on all this - but it's not too accurate:
1. Set up the pay that isn't paying.
2. Gently pull down on each of the 3 reels to see if the hopper suddenly starts running.
2B-if it runs, let it finish, and count the coins to see it corresponds to the pay. (Note you can sometimes accidentally move the wipers across the hot portion of a different pay, so don't let that fool you.  Don't adjust wipers unless you need to in other words.)
3. if nothing else works, reach down and pull gently on the hopper outboard wiper assembly with your missing high pays set up on the reels. Your outboard 150 pay may not be contacting.
4. As with any machine you haven't played for awhile, take the time and check out all your wiper contacts, both hopper and reel boards, and make sure that when you lift them up and release them they give a good sounding solid snick.

That should give you something to do on your weekend, if you need a break from your other chores.

If you have the energy, write down the reel tapes, if might be fun to figure out the % on this machine.

dear old
   just to let you know was looking at the cards wipers all seem to land good on to the contacts
so i thought i`d look at the hopper (will post pics of inside machine later) the 50 pay was running off the contact after 25 coins checked with multimeter confitrmed
was ruuning of after 25 coins
so i took the carryover arms off undid the wiper arm  from the board so i could see what was happening had a good look checked everything with multimeter 
but all was ok only trouble is burn marks after the 100m carryover on top of the board i`ve read somewhere how to cure this
taking the wiper arm off released the spring tension on the back so i thought nothing visibly wrong put it back together
stuck the hopper back in and set it up for the eigjt ball payout 50 coins and lo and behold it paid out 50 tried it with the
tic tac toe and it paid correctly  the only one not paying is the tic tac toe in view stiil wont pay 18
but nearly there will post the reel symbols tommorrow as i always write them down and the pics of the inside and hooper board

Cool.  Good work.
Your payboard is burning because your arc switches are opening too soon, possibly.
If it is only the 100 pay which has arced, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
You can tell they're really out of adjustment if all your pay segments have arced, and they look like half-moons.
Am posting about arc switches after I finish this.

soory not on the same post as photos but
first photo shows where the key was lost and somebody tried to force it open not realising its a steel lined cabinet
second photo shows why the jackpot was never winnable
i bought this because i think they all deserve restoration but no foxslots this side of the pond so limited to what spares available
i do the best i can but prices  these machines fetch exclude rechroming so polish up best i can on  really bad  chrome im thinking of just
finishing them in a paint finish, does it matter as long as they last another 40 years!!
anyway i bought this one from a lady it had been stuck in her shed for about 10 years paid £26 for it and she threw a stand in nice one as well
nearly strained everything lifting it out the shed i never realised it was a steel lined one!!!!
got it home drilled it out found £2 worth of 2p`s bundle of love letters and a gold st christopher
jigged the change machine on top to except the new smaller 10p with out changing the acceptor only trouble it only likes the older 2p`s as they have high bronze content where as the modern 2p`s
are steel
will post some photos of before and after and some of my next project hold and draw machine

lots of machines come from arcades mainly seaside so there pretty exposed to the elements during there life so normally there quite
rusty and in poor condition but a bit warmth and dry and they soon start to recover

Not too bad.  We used to get them off the boats to refurbish, and that salt sea air don't do them a lot of good.
You can always reformica that, it's not too bad a job to do.
I love that reel disc plug.  Nice way for a casino to lose a license, or at least get some good heat.
We used to braze in new disc plugs when we changed %ages on the old Ballys.  Or file them out, depending if we wanted deeper or not.
Sounds like you're getting into your machine pretty seriously.

i was lucky as they stuck a change machine on top then drilled through for it they then stuck formica over the exsisting formica to include the new top box
so i peeled off the formica and the underneath was fine but had to paint the top box will post some more photos of it finished

found the cause the fingers on the first reel card had a soldered repair job between 2 fingers this had come away but could not be seen
found it with meter and affected a temporary bodge stuck it back in set tic tac toe in view and it paid 18 coins
will try to repair properly but my soldering iron is more like a branding iron
 perhaps the kindly foxslots will pop a new wiper in the post if i ordered 1 !!!!!!!
