I don't think they exist...

Add Cigar to the list.

Interesting. So the backlit reels for machines are theme/game specific?
I noticed my older double diamond has backlit reels but my newer triple double
Wild cherry does not. I would like more information on the
backlit reels topic.

The Phantom of The Opera & the Triple Double Wild Cherry that I have are Back-lit & washable. both are like new, or very minty.

I have Triple Lucky reel Strips that are both Washable. One set is Back-lit, the other two are not Back-lit.
Our recent  trip to Las Vegas, most of the five reel machines were non-washable & faded. They looked bad but the Casino was still making money using them.
I don't remember the Red White Blue Deluxe. The R.W.& B. I have seen are washable. All of mine are washable.

It's like a box of Chocolates, you never know what you get.

Osso - The reels are the same, and not game specific, however, they are talking about the reel STRIPS.  You can purchase backlit reels to upgrade your machine that does not have them, but you will need the harnesses, etc to complete it. I have a complete set going on eBay this week. The listing will show you everything you need to install backlit reels in a machine.

I highly recommend C.V. Slots. They know their stuff.

I have purchased kits from them in the past & they were perfect. Very pleased with their service.
R.

Please remember,
S+ reel strips will fit  S2000 NON-BACK-LIT Reels. They will not work on S2000 BACK-LIT Reels. They are too wide. Unless they are trimmed, just a touch. Jason, this doe not apply to you.

Well thank you very much!!!   Hail Hail  We try and help whenever we can! Sometimes we just get too much going and can't get back to people immediately, so we're always working on our juggling skills...

Oh, and on the S2000 strips, yesterday I whittled some S+ strips down to fit S2000 backlit baskets. Seems to be a little less than 1/16" on each side to make them fit. Wasn't too hard, and I guess you could just take it all off one side, but I didn't want the symbols to be offset to one side (no one would notice, but Yoeddys OCD was nagging at me, lol). In the end, they looked perfect, no one would ever be able to tell, so don't pass on S+ strips thinking they won't work!

Osso - I think the use of the term "backlit" being used 2 different ways is causing some confusion.  arrow

To have backlit reel strips light up on a win, you need 2 things. First, your machine must be equipped with backlit reels (look behind/under the reel strips and see if there are little light bulbs in little brackets right where the paylines line up). Second, you need strips that are "backlit", or "backlight-able", per say (strips will be gray or black on the backside, with transparent symbols). I am betting the strips you have are capable of being backlit (meaning they have the transparent symbols). I am not aware that Trip Dbl Wild Cherry were made any other way than with the gray or black back, but it's possible.  It is entirely possible though, that the previous owner(s) of the machine removed the backlit reels/reel baskets from the machine and swapped them for standard non-lit reels.  yes

Check your machine, and see what you have and we'll go from there!   wave

well the poster above mentioned that his Triple Double Wild Cherry has back lit reels and and I am not seeing mine lite up as I have the same game.
 Scratch Head
Obviously my double diamond has backlit reels as they do light up.
i guess I should have checked the machine first.
But the confusion starts when someone that has something in they're machine as in this case, and they have the same machine but has different features, mods, bells and whistles and one don't. So it makes one thinking... what am I missing here, and if I am missing something did it come from the factory this way? Or was something removed from my machine? Or last but not least... did someone mod a machine to get in this case a lighted backlit reel? So many variables.... Thats why all the questions but I am smart enough to know when something is lit, and when its not anyway..  as again I have basically the same machines, just one seems to be backlit and the other not.
Trying to find out why that is, is all. Thanks for the clarification.

ok.. I just checked my Triple Double Wild Cherry... It does NOT have back lit reels. BUT....the strips are transparent... (this pisses me off btw)
So again, my question is...  Did my Triple Double Wild Cherry S2000 Ship from IGT with back lit reels? Yes or No.
Or.... did they ship some machines one way, and some machines the other way? That in itself makes no sense to me but it appears there is no rhyme or reason to some of this..

Thanks.

It just could be that the kit you have in your cabinet isn't the original game or options.
That's normal... as I have no idea what was in my machine when it 1st arrived at a casino.

By the time it leaves the casino, out to a warehouse, maybe someone else hands, and then yours -
that machine cabinet could have went through ANY number of changes!  arrow

Yea.. I am seeing this is the reality of it all..
Not a biggie.. but it makes harder if your striving to get it back the way it was when built.
So I guess I need to forget about all that and make the machine like I want it with the options, games, themes i want., and just have fun with it as it is when its bought.
Kinda like a used car when you get it.

hey guys.. Did not mean to jack the thread..
one teency one. How can you determine if the strips are washable without finding out the hard way?  Scratch Head  Cry Laughing
sorry.. I know its really not anything to joke about.. But lets say you find a kit on ebay that you are interested in.. How can you tell if the strips are newer strips or washable?
I don't like taking ebay sellers at theyre word, but I may be interested in buying different kits/strips in the future.
Thanks fellas.  wave
