I've been working on a 2000 e-series off and on for a few weeks and cant seem to figure out exactly where the problem is. i can run through test #2 no problem, test #5 shows the readers are working, but test #8 it tilts as soon as the arm switch engages and flashes code 70. 000 then 03. 000.
I've chased wires and connections from the reelset to the I/O and found no problems but the molex connectors on the reelset have no wires where the valid data and reel lites are supposed to be.
This reelset has the red and white molex connections on the upper rear. the 3 pins on the far right of the red plug are supposed to be 5vdc, valid data and reel lites.
They're wired in to the I/O board but completely missing from the reelset.
I have several reelsets so i looked at a few others. All are wired the same. All the schematics/ diagrams dont really show connections for lites or valid data from the reel board to the molex connector.
My thinking leads me to think U-12 or U13 could be bad on the I/O board so I've tried at least 10 different boards with the same results. Also changed out the reel board several times, still the same. Anybody have suggestions?

Hi... I have a question.. Do you get the same codes and tilt if you try playing coins? I had a machine that for some reason would all most alway tilt on its first play. I changed out the power supply board with a different machine and the problem stopped? The voltages were all  correct, and each machine worked after swapping boards? Did you try running test 3 to check your kick and arm switches? One other problem I've run into is that the cherry switch on the front door lock. I have by passed a few of them before.

I have a cherry switch rigged for door open or door closed play. no difference.
I changed out the power supply for one with voltages closer to spec, and that didn't help.
Test # 3 shows all the inputs working.
If I had more hair, I'd be pulling it out by now.
Im trying to figure out exactly where the valid data strobe is generated and how it gets to the I/ O board.
There are wires from J1 pins 26, 27 to the reelset molex, but that's where they end. Looks like it never had wires from the molex to the reel board.
I'll take a few snaps and post em up. Thanks for the input!
