I am trying out some various games in my IGame machine.  I have found some that when I key them it comes up requiring a bonus device, and my key chip is not allowing me to disable that during the key process.  I am using a key 40.  What key can I use to be able to get in to disable those settings?  I have a price is right one and also a bowzers rock n roll party one that need that disabled.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi bhinkley,

I haven't heard of that issue before.  Have you tried Key 17?  Usually, 17 or 40 do the job for me on all my Game Kings (17 for older games and 40 for newer).  Key 40 is the replacement for Key 22, so I can't imagine that Key 22 would work where Key 40 wouldn't, but Key 17 is completely different and may do the trick.

If you have time, I'd like to see a picture of the error in case I come across it installing an iGame someday.

Thanks! :Dave

I don't think a 17 is the right one.  That is for a S2000.  I am going to try going back to a Key 22 to see what that does.  If that doesn't work I will have to try a Key 28 to see if I can get in that way.  I didn't take any pictures, but basically all it is showing is when you are going through the key chip menu and you get to the peripheral devices the bonus device is enabled and grayed out so you can't disable it.  Then when you exit the key chip menu you get a bonus device comm failure and options verification required window so you can't use the machine.   Duh!

I use Key 17 for my IGT Game Kings both 3802 and 3902 all the time.  The screen goes purple indicating that the key chip menu has been enabled.  Swap base chips back around and upon bootup, you're in key chip mode.

Tim - you're awesome.

One more thought, that particular setting may need to be more than just keyed ... may also require clear.  That would be a bummer, but i-Game slots aren't really time-consuming to setup (as compared to poker themes).

KEY 17 is for Both Reel and Video, NOT just Reels

Key 28 is ONLY for GK Enhanced Flash Software (044)

Key 22 and Key 40 are the same if using in a 3902 CPU, Key 40 is Correct if using Enhanced CPU (044) with Legacy Adapter for Simm Software

Above is for Non WAP games, however you are trying to use software that requires additional hardware (Bonus Device) or basically a Top Box device that you don't have hooked up and software is hard coded to look for it. that is why you can't disable it

I am going on guess you have a 3902 CPU and Simm Software as PIR set was sold by "known" person about 4 -5 years ago

Key 17 is correct Keychip on Video (3902) themes (modern Simm type) with Single Denom or Old Style Multi Denom (multi page) and has No Clear Function (used 2 separate chips in GME sockets)

Key 22 (or 40) is correct Keychip for 3902 with MD3 or the New Style M Denom that has all on 1 page (accounting, progressive, player denoms)

If you were to post the program numbers I bet someone would post a partial PSR showing correct (well IGT's) Keychip

I FORGOT, YES YOU CAN USE A KEY 22 (OR 40) FOR ANY SET OF SIMMS ON 3902 CPU, IF YOU SELECT ALL 3 FUNCTIONS AND GET INTO KEY MENU, BUT IF JUST TRYING TO GO INTO KEY MENU AFTER SET UP AND IS NOT MD3 IT WILL JUST BOOT WITHOUT GOING TO KEY MENU (this disclaimer for older, stubborn, unwilling to change SOB's)    censored
