I was thinking of buying a Game King and was wondering if I would be better off having the vendor install the software in a cabinet that has two rows of buttons for bet lines and play lines rather than just the one row of buttons for hold/cancel.  This way, I could always swap out the Game King software for other games like Hexbreaker, etc.  Does the Game King software and game play work the same regardless of cabinet type or is the Game King software/games specifically configured for a cabinet with one row of buttons?  Sorry if this is obvious to most.  Thanks for your insights.

Hi Mark,

It works much like you described it.  When you put a poker game set into an two-row iGame, only the front row of buttons work.  There are two main differences.  The first is the fact that the legends won't be right.  The five buttons will have "Bet 1 Credit, Bet 2 Credits", etc., instead of "HOLD/CANCEL", but of course they will behave as HOLD/CANCEL buttons.  The other difference is that you may not have BET ONE button.  It will probably exist inside the machine, but may have to be reconnected to a button that's not in use.  Without a BET ONE button, you can only MAX BET for poker.  By the way, vice versa, if you have an iGame in, the BET ONE button will have no effect.  Instead, you use PLAY 1 LINE from the top row and BET 1 CREDIT from the bottom row.

So, bottom line, I agree that getting both rows of buttons is a better option for versatility.  I just swap out legends when I swap out games.

Hope this helps! wave

Mark This really is just a coincidence but yesterday I had just made a sound simm for Hexbreaker and had it in a machine with a one row set of buttons to test it. As you can see in the picture all isn't lost because on the one row buttons. Any option as to the lines you want to play or coins bet can be set with the touch screen. Now I'm not saying one row is better than two or the other way around all I'm saying is you can play just about all games no matter which set of buttons you have. There may be exceptions I'm no expert.

Buzz - you're absolutely correct!  And as far as I know, there are no exceptions.  Good point! Clap

Agree with Post  I have the one row of buttons on an older Gameking cabinet and I have Money Storm in there right now.  Works fine, no lost functionality, the legends are wrong but you can figure them out pretty quickly and you always have the touch screen to do anything you want.  Basically, just what Buzz and 4 Deuces said!

Buzz, 4 Deuces, and Fourbyracer - thanks for your insights.  I decided to go with a Game King in a cabinet with two rows of buttons.
