i have a vision machine with the slingo game on it. a while back i upgraded the machine to have a split screen.well i been having problems ever since.
i went back to the org way i got the machine by putting in the org chips.after i put in the org chips i key chip 17 the unit and got protocol mismatch, closure m restart.
i then used a s2000 clear chip and got the same message. im running ver chip vs009vxd, stepper gme 1 and 2 sg000046 and stepper base sb 000228.
if anyone knows what im doing wrong and can help me that would be great.thanks to all.john

I'm no expert, but what little i know here is what I think.
1, the closer m is normal (the door was opened.
2, restart is also normal, it's gonna say that.
3, your sg chips seem older then dirt, but should work.
I assume you only remove one chip , the version chip, so recheck the installation and make sure all is straight and correctly installed.
your machine was working, now its not, so back track and see what you could have over looked.  Put your new version chip in and 97 and 17 chip the machine again.  If you didn't put the chip in correctly, you might as well kiss that chip goodbye. I did that to a chip and it was toast.

Hi Dan, I think I fixed it. What I did was used a s2000 clear chip and the error was gone. I left the unit on for 5hrs the last 4days And it's good.
Thanks for your response!

Did you get it working with the newer version chip ?  Ya know, with the newer chip you get the split screen, but  even better you can set up your machine to have multi denominational.  Its easy to do, a cheap button is all you need, the wires are already there in all the s2000 machines, so is the hole to put the button.  The hardest thing is figuring out what 4 amounts you want to use.

Thanks Dan but I'm happy with a quarter. The machine is working fine so I'm not messing with it! Lol

You'd need to upgrade the Stepper Base also, as it has to be compatible with the multi-denom version chip...

Or something like that. Crazy Tongue Out rotflmao

Would be curious to hear what kind of problems you were having before.  The break down of what you need to do to get Split Screen and Multi-denom working would be this:

SB (keep the same one you have)
SG000380 GM1/2
VS011GX1

Finally, you need to update the version of the ATA on your top box flash card to ATA10065

hi better slots, what you listed is what i have. when i first put the new chips in the machine would work for a while then it would sometimes start reseting itself.than it would sometime just shut down and would say cant find netplex
(or something to that nature). the led up on top looked like the colors would be washing in and out. like the screen was bleeding. so i changed the cpu, motherboard and power supply. this was after different topic's on here.
none of it worked.i shut the machine down and did not play with it for weeks. well with some time on my hands i put the old chips back in and said screw the split screen! well after putting in the old chips the vfd said mismatch protacol.
i tryed keychiping it and it did not change. well having no other ave to go i said let me try one other thing.so i used an s2000 clear chip than key chip 17 and presto it started working fine. no other problems since.idesign helped me with the ata upgrade and chips. he is a great member to deal with!
