Hi folks. I have not been here much since the old forum got dumped.

I have a Haywire Deluxe slot as seen in my avatar. It has a DVB200 bill validator. The latest firmware (I installed the removable EPROM in it) I have is v2.6.

I have a few questions:
1. Is there a newer version of the firmware? If so, can someone let me know where to procure it (PM info if necessary).
2. If there is no newer version, is there a direct replacement validator that will recognize the newer bills.
3. If there is a replacement validator, is there any special procedure for installing/enabling it.

Thanks.

<edit> It looks like I may have posted this in the wrong section. I didn't notice there was a bill validotor sub-section. Maybe a mod can move it.

Anyone? Surely someone at least knows what the latest firmware is.

Thanks. That answers #1.

Are there any other validator options that will work, and are more up to date?

Any idea what model these are and do they require any changes (i.e. power supply etc)?

I believe they were WBA12ss and would require the change of the housing, chassis, bezel, and bv power supply to convert to a wba from a dbv.  I'm sure Jim has all the required parts.

Thanks,
Wayne

Thanks. I did contact him and got the info. Just not sure if it's worth the expense. Probably just easier to keep some of the older $5 bills around to swap if need be.

If I was running a "gamesroom", I'd do the update so that there would be no inconvenience for my customers, however most home slot owners wouldn't. Well, I'd actually do the update either way since I like having the machines 100% .  The $5 update was not released, only went to a few casinos, and therefore is rare, hence the cost.  I usually equate how much something for myself costs based on the amount of money we gamble at the casinos and how long we take to loose it.  If I'm eating at the restaurant on a trip, I always get the filet mignon, the money is just going to end up in a slot machie no matter what I eat.  off topic, Greektown in Detroit has a weekday surf and turf special for $9.99 including filet mignon and grilled shrimp.  Unfortunately I was there on a weekend.

Thanks,
Wayne

Yeah, that is sort of I usually am. I don't 'need' it, but just want it.

Hi

While doing some research for a thread a while back I came across a link to a company that does aftermarket sollutions to upgrade older Bv's to accept newer SW. There is nothing advertised for the DBV200 but maybe contact them to ee if they can assist - http://www.pyramid5.com/
