I have a IGT 16 Mhz. board and the Q12 transistor is broken.
Can some one tell me what is the part number or the
replacement part number is for it?

It looks like a 4A (amp) 200V (volt) L2004L3 Triac in a TO-92 package.

I think teccor.com sells them.

Digi-Key only sells the TO-220AB package with the same specs...it would
work, but you'd have to bend the legs to make it fit.

Can you pull one off an old board?

I only have one 16 MHz. board and
I haven't looked at my spare 10 MHz
board that the battery leaked on.

Are you sure it is a Triac?
It is very small and looks like a Transistor.
Q 13 looks more like a Triac.
But I'm not a expert.

Looks more like this photo below.
Do you have a camera?
It must be rated to handle 200Volts at 4 Amps.

By the way, they are all transistors like the term "Transistor Radio".

They transistors come in different "packages"
Here's a couple of examples of what might be confusing you...

will this work?

no...you need one that can handle up to 4 amps and 200 volts.
That one you've attached to your post only goes up to 0.8 amps?!?!
That's not even 1 single amp of juice!
You are guaranteed to smoke it!

What circuit is this part of.
I found some that are real close on specs.
but not sure where I need to be the same
and where I can slide.

I have no clue but I will tell you this.
From everything that I know about these MPU boards and IGT is that they outsourced
their board construction to places all over the world to have their boards made
and not all the boards used the same exact part numbers.

There were several revisions as well and everytime they do a revision,
it seemed like the part numbers changed a little.

It's basically a crapshoot that the part number I have on my board
is the same as yours - however, the specifications of the transistors that
we're talking about...should remain the same.
It's not terribly important that you get the exact part number.
What is important though, is that the specifications be exact however.

Let me put it this way....I don't know how much you can "slide" by -
that's like putting in spark plugs into the cylinder heads of your car's engine
that are slightly smaller than the originals -
then turning the ignition key to see what happens... bust gut laughing
