I have several 10mhz MPUs. One is missing U18 (28 pin socketed chip on the right side by the 3.68Mhz crystal), but the game seems to play fine without it. BV works, hopper works etc.  Does anyone know what this chip is used for?  Scratch Head

Thanks. That is what I was hoping (not needed for most home users). On a side note, I noticed that there are two jumpers next to it, and some of my boards have no jumpers and some have them in various combinations. That was another clue that it probably was not used in a stand alone situation. Guess I can go 'green' and pull them all out and save a few milliamps.  rotflmao

Send them to me, Mark. I'm saving them up in an old milliamp jar for a rainy day, when I plan to use them in a Tesla coil to make my own lightning.. stir the pot / get cooking  lightning bolt
