Thanks

Actually is that buzz on all the time?  That might be something else.  My previous post was referring to the noise occurring during a spin.  But maybe it would work for it being constantly on as well.  If the cable that Bob sent is removed, does the buzz go away?

Thanks
Jason

It's on all the time. I'll have to try and unhook tomorrow & see what happens.

I used 10 ohm resistors on mine the other day. Took care of the noise and only required raising the volume level 1 step yes Make sure to do all three speakers on both + and - leads

2 on each speaker?

Radio Shack part number 271-1105 - 47 ohm 1/2W 5% Carbon Film Resistor did the trick for me per Bettor Slot's direction.  I put them on all three speakers (Left, Right, and Tray).  Install one resistor on only the white wire of each speaker.

I went with 10 ohms on each the white and green wires. Don't know if it's right, but it worked

While I know nothing about these machines, it sounds like some noise is getting fed into the power supply and thus the sound system. If it were me, I would try some filter caps across the power lines going to the reel lamps and/or controller. But then again, I have a scope and would be able to track it down.

It's definitely noise from the back light wires.
Been discussed before on another thread.
Resistor mods on all 3 speaker white wires will help, but not completely cure it.

A resistor mod to the speaker sounds like more of a band-aid than a fix. All it's doing is changing the speaker impedance and filtering the noise frequency at the speaker (along with any other wanted sounds in the same frequency range). Sort of like cranking down a frequency range with an equalizer. The real cure would be to filter the noise at the source.

I agree...it's a band-aid...nothing more,  but it does the trick - most of the time.

I dunno, mine's completely silent with the resistors.  I can't hear any feedback at all...just the game sounds.  Not sure how much cleaner it could get.

It has a 502A board in. I think I'll  swap it out for a 504B from another machine.

Yeah, I've known about the 504b fix for a while, i just haven't updated mine since the resistor trick is working.

Does someone have schematics for the two boards to see what is different, and find out what the real fix is?
