Hi All, does anyone have the ability to transfer SIMM card sound files to a computer and then copy then to an eprom? The reason I ask is because the enhanced board set I have has a socket for a sound eprom and this might take care of the problem I'm having not getting any sound out of that board set. Thanks in advance for any and all help yes

I think the capacity of a SIMM is much greater than that of an eprom... Not sure how you would get around that. What type of eprom does the board take?

Sorry guys, I'm at work right now so I can't check chip numbers or post pictures at the moment, but will try and get it done tonught. The only reason I thought of it was because I saw a enhanced board set on ebay and the legacy board still had the sound eprom plugged into the socket so I know it's available, just don't know if it's available for the game I want to use it on which would be a Money Mad Martians. Anyway, I'll quit asking questions till I can be in front of the machine to provide more info, thanks!

My handy dandy Chip Auto-Identify burner tells me its a   M27C801   The only machine I have with this MPU doesn't work at the present time. ( It was and now it hates me )  so I can't experiment.  I'm woudering if it has to have both a simm and a eprom.

Hey Buzz, are you thinking it needs the chip to read the simm?

I don't know, it was just a idea.  I was talking to Blueridge on the phone and he said he always makes sure the eprom is on the board.  When I get this game I have to boot up I can play with it and let you know.

are you saying that your legacy board doesn't have a simm slot for the audio simm?  perhaps it's for another platform. post a pic if you can.

Wayne  I think his board is just like the one I posted above.  The question is does it need a eprom along with the SIMM?

Hi Buzz,
No.  I have them with sound simm, no sound eprom.

I've been a little busy lately but hope to be able to relax by Christmas...

Thanks,
 Wayne

Wayne, Buzz is correct that it's the same board. I've tried 2 differant sets of boards in this machine and can't get sound or multimedia option in the programming menu. No legacy sounds either although solenoid reel stop sound works so the MPU is getting that signal anyway. Tried the first set in a second machine and didn't get sound either, but the set of boards had connection problems between the MPU and motherboard so the seller replaced them for me. New set works great except for no sound. Do you know what the "aux audio" plug is for on the motherboard? Didn't work to plug the speakers directly into it, just wondering Scratch Head

I can't believe the eBay boards didn't come with everything needed, this info is off a CN for the I+ Video platform to Enhanced conversion,
think it could be the same problem with reel game?

SYMPTOM:
All sounds are inaudible during game play when using the 7570440x processor board or the legacy memory board assembly 91409900.

SOLUTION:
If using the 7570440x process board, change the DSPL program to DSPL0006. If using the legacy memory board assembly 91409900, replace the DSP boot PROM with DSPL0006.

He had 2 differant board sets listed, one with chips for $100 or with out for $75 starting bids. Didn't know about the DSPL chip to worry about it at the time. Looked like plug and go on the simm card. I would have thought it would be imbedded in the legacy board if it was that critical, but, live and learn. Thanks for the tip Jim, sent you a PM. Thanks, Rob
