Recently acquired large amount of  CAP chips.   These are the numbers I have:  2315,  904,  2016,  773,  1321, 740,  2234,  2292,  2298,   1267,  707,  953,

There are NO  2174 's.

I am somewhat ignorant on what cap chip goes to what game...
OK... I know nothing about cap chips ...other than 2174  is what,  I believe, is needed for  multi-game.

I don't even know if a cap chip can be erased and reprogrammed... anyway.

If anyone has an interest,  send  PM   and /  or   ....  post your knowledge of what  cap chips are all about.

They need expensive programmers for one.
There's a list for them in the PE forum.

Cap Chips are Bi-Proms and they are all OTP (one time Programmable)

Sometimes, but not always, the CAP chip number corresponds with the CG set.  For example, CAP2315 might go with MRO, MBO, MGO, and MXO 2315.

As monitorman said, they can't be erased and re-programmed.

I'm stockpiling PE+ stuff myself, so if you're at the point where you're going to toss them, I'll gladly take them.  I know a local friend of mine would be interested in reading them in to add to the MAME library, too.  propeller

The best forward looking plan I have seen is the Caprom Adapter which allows you to use a 27c64, 256 or 512.

The 27c series can be written/rewritten the same as the MGx chips.

The fancy adapters that people have built include a series of dipswitches so that one 27c can be used for multiple versions.
