Hello, Since my wife is now addicted to our new machines, I have ran into a deilema.  I have 3 S+ machines.  Is there a way to set the amount of credits the machines can store?  Right now the most credits she can build up is 1000.  Anything over that will pay from the coin hopper.  Basically I want it to be able to store say 9999 credits.  Possible????

Thanks

Yes and No.

You can set the machine so you can have up to 9999 credits.
This allows you to put in bills or accumulate small wins.

However if you hit the top award the machine will go into hand pay and lock up. This forces you to use the jackpot key and it counts down all of the credits on the machine.
The top award may be only 1199 credits.

The top awards are 5000 and 10000.  That would work fine.

How do I set that?

Thanks

Well first you should determine what your Game and Reel Chip are.

On the middle of the page there is Ricks FAQs - fantastic amount of information there.
here is a quick link to the page that you are looking for.
http://www.newlifegames.net/spset/SPSS.htm

The SP chip is the game chip and it determines what features your game has. This is what controls hopper limits and all that Jazz.
There is a document that corresponds to your game chip called a PSR (Program Summary Report) and it details how to set up the various options like hopper limits.
The menu and button sequence differs between chips so it is important that you know what SP chip you are running.

The theme (ie Haywire) and its percentage payback is governed by the reel chip. there is a document that covers that called a PAR sheet.
If you post your Game and Reel chips some kiind soul just might reply with the PSR and PAR - make siure your profile information is up to date as they may choose to emal you this info.

R273 (one of our senior members) put together the following cheat sheet about setting up options but you still need your game chip info.

Hope this helps.

It depends on the bill validator that's in your machine as to whether it can be upgraded or not.

What is the model number on your validator?  It should be on a sticker near where you insert the bills, and will start with "DBV-___" or "WBA-__".

Will it not take any bill larger than a single or just not the colored ones?

We need to know the BV model you have. But if it's a DBV-200 make sure dip switches 1-6 are off (on the first bank of 10 switches). That determines what bill denominations it will take. You will need to remove the one screw on the bottom center front of the head to get to the switches underneath. But we really need to know what model you have and what exactly it is not doing.

If the validator ID is not set right.
The only bill it will accept is the $1.00 bill.
Actually we are not sure why the $1,00 is even accepted.

The ID is also controlled by the dipswitch.

keep in mind that with a 9999 hopper limit if you inadvertantly hit the cashout button then you're gonna have to put 9999 coins (or however many credits are on the machine) through the hopper to clear it bawling Might be a good idea to unplug one of the wires to the cashout button to avoid this. Will also be a problem if you ever need to cashout the machine to change any programming options

Mike Washington (and cowboygames), the alternative would be to replace your SP731s AND your SP611* with SP1271s. The 1271 will allow you to set separate hopper, jackpot, and credit limits so that you can have up to 9999 credits, limit your hopper payouts to a few hundred coins or less, and still have a jackpot lockup (hand pay) for single wins over whatever amount you desire. The SP731 lumps all three of those together, so you're stuck.

*Sevens-Up is a type 1 game. An SP731 or SP1271 will work just fine.
