This is going to be a very broad question, as I am trying to help someone who is not in the US and does not speak english.

They are running Sigma SG112B Video Poker, Coin In.

They are getting the following errors:

Coin In drop/Jam
Time Out Error

No idea how to tech a Sigma (last one I actually worked on was a treasure tunnel, which is an entirely different animal).

Any ideas on how to begin fixing this or where to start checking?

The other night upon the stairs, I met a man who was not there.  He was not there again today.  I wish I wish he'd go away.

Hello, the error you are talking about is caused because of the coin diverter is eather stuck or not in the good position for the coins to drop into the good direction.
What i am trying to explain is, if the coin diverter is stuck for the coins being dropped to the hopper and the machines software thinks it should be directed to the cashbox in the bottom cabinet, you get this error because the bottom coinoptics do not get a pulse of a coin passing trough.

Most of the time, the coin diverter has a bad solenoid or the solenoid is just stuck from not being used often enough.
Sometimes a little wiggling on the diverter solves this problem but if you have a solenoid that has been to hot or that's used to far, you will get this error back soon.
Solution, change the solenoid from the coin diverter.

Hope this helps your customer.
Kind regards, Didier - Belgium.
