The win meter shows 71 000 what does this mean. The game plays and pays out like it should. I hit reset and the 71 want go away. Is this normal. How do I clear the 71? Off the win meter. This is a bally e series from 1982. Like I said it plays and pays like it should. Thanks for your help

Sounds like your door switch on the lower hinge is not working or out of adjustment. Also check to see if you have a second switch located on the door by the lock assembly, and if it is working or not. The code should clear once the door is closed and a coin is inserted and the reels have completed a spin.

The door switch at the lock has been unhooked. There are two wires one is gray and redish brown strip  and the other is white with blue strip which goes where. Thanks for your help

No, the switch just completes the circuit when the switch is closed.. You should be able to just connect the wires together, with them unhooked thats possible why your getting the 71 code..

Was the problem with the disconnected wires from the old lock switch?

Yes it was I just put the two wires together at the door switch and shut the door and spun the reels and it cleared the 71 off the meter. Thanks for the help. Still trying to figure out what the slot with led on the side of the machine does not in the manual.

Glad I could help fix that code problem, but you lost me with the other question??
