not really too familiar with this kind'a stuff.
any assistance would be helpful.
perhaps someone has the manual or maybe there is a download somewhere?
any help is appreciated.

That's normal after the door was closed. Should disappear after the first game.

not normal.  this code is preventing play.  it won't take coins or bills.

Are there any numbers or letters in the display area beside dots?
If so, what are they?
Do you own a photographic camera of some sort show you could show us?
Does pulling out on the cherry switch plunger change anything?

HD474 is correct - the dots appear after a code has been cleared and should disappear after a spin.

the decimal points are in the first two positions and the bill collector is colored red.  will not allow clearing, play or anything.  machine is a boat anchor as it sits.
opening and closing the door has no impact, reseting has no impact, accepts coins but will not play.  arm will not function, buttons will not activate play.
not normal.
at work now so i don't have access to machine.
thanks for the replies.

There's a toggle switch on the mpu board.  You didn't move that by accident did you?  It can prevent game play.

i have not modified the unit.  by the mpu unit i assume you mean the computer looking thing in the middle with the reset button, etc. on it.
i personally think it has to do with the bill collector.
everything seems to work, it resets when the door is closed, spins the wheels, the bill collector does it's nromal thing upon closing.
then the light goes red on the bill collector and there is decimal points in the first two spots...
thanks again

As the others have told you, the decimal points in the first two spots are normal after you close the door.

Since you may have an issue with the bill acceptor, try removing the cash can, check for any jammed bills in there as well as in the head or transport, then replace the cash can (put it in firmly), and close and latch the door (if equipped) to the bill validator and try again.
