S+ moved with coins doesn't work

Hi,
It's been a while and I need everyone's help again. A friend of mine moved his S+ slant top on it's back still full of coins. He turned it on and blew a fuse. When I got to it, there were loose coins everywhere. I believe I removed them all, including the ones behind the the motherboard. There were none in the power supply area or the CPU board (pull out on a tray). Turned it on and the General Illumination lights came on, BV fired up and nothing else. No display codes. Tried reset button, no chime. Reset key, nothing. After about a minute it blew a fuse. I removed the motherboard and could see no obvious damage, but I am guessing it is fried and I plan on replacing it (could they have it made it any harder to get to?). Any suggestions to what else might be wrong. Can I safely put the CPU board in my slant top to see if it is working without harming my machine?

Did you check and see if there still coins IN the power supply box?
One screw will allow you to take the cover and look inside. PLEASE unplug the cord from the outlet before doing this okay?

Sounds like one of the coins may be shorting something out. Make sure no coins are lodged anywhere across any of the boards or between the hopper connectors etc.

Agreed with the others -- unplug and take off the cover for the power supply.  If there are no coins in there, my money would be on a fried motherboard due to a coin shorting something on it when power was previously applied.

...and yes, stuff in a slant top is very hard to get to.  

More than likely the CPU board is okay, but there's no telling for sure what may have gotten fried with the coins shorting connections that weren't supposed to be shorted.  You could try the board in a different game to find out for sure, but there is a small risk involved.  I'd certainly inspect the board very closely first to look for anything that may be burnt on it.

After checking the PS for coins and replacing the cover, I would also check all of the output voltages from the PS to make sure none are missing or incorrect. The best place to start is at the beginning of the path. Then work your way forward. I would still check the board for any visible damage first.

I did take off the cover for the power supply and there were no coins. I visually checked both boards and there were no obvious fried areas, but there were a lot of coins behind the motherboard. So I suspect it is dead/shorted. Can I check the power supply voltages with the boards removed? And yes I am working on it with it unplugged. I guess I'll try putting the CPU board in my game, I'd hate to mess it up though. The other option would be to buy another CPU board as well.

Check for coins lodged behind the plate that the reels set on at rear wall hard to see and like what was said before behind the hopper plug
