Hello to all. Long time viewer 1st time post. Awesome site, very knowledgeable folks. Have found answers to most of my questions in the past. Clap Thanks to all. I need  Help with my Jackpot Party Dotmation. I have had the machine for years with no problems, works well. I wanted to adjust the volume. When pushing the diagnostic button nothing happens. Scratch Head I checked the switch and it is good. Any ideas where to look from here would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance. Ed

Welcome to the site, erbs!

 NLG Welcome

I would trace the wires back to (I presume) the backplane to make sure that the switch is actually connected firmly to something.  The switch itself might be good, but if it's not connected to anything, it won't do you much good.   propeller

Thanks for the welcome Knagl. Clap All wires are hooked up. There is an orange wire w/purple tracer going from the switch to the backplane. And 2 black wires w/ white tracers together at the switch, one goes to the backplane the other goes to 2 switches on the handle assembly. Goes from 1 switch to the second switch then goes from the second switch to the reset key switch and ends there. Checked continuity on all three wires, all good no breaks, all hooked up.  Scratch Head

I have seen this problem before. In the machine I was working on the ground was broken.
The issues is the machine is not seeing the door open. Try this:

1) Pull the two wires off the door cherry switch.
2) Use a jumper wire from ground (any metal on the machine) to one of the disconnected door switch wires. If you have no luck with the first one, try the other one.

When the machine is seeing a door open signal the dotmation screen will go dark and the credit meter will display "Door" and the win meter will display "Open"
Only after the machine see the door open will you be able to change settings.

KARMA to you Neonkiss. Button works fine applause . Went to check door cherry switch, no wires were attached. Found 2 black wires tied up with other wires. Hooked them up to the 2 bottom prongs on the switch and all is well. Thanks again for your help.  applause applause applause applause applause applause applause

 Dancing Party

Fantastic!  Glad it was a pretty easy solution.  K+ to both of you.  I'll have to log this into my brain if/when it comes up again.
