Hi,

I am new to S 2000.

The slot I have is a 5-reel S 2000, THE ENCHANTED UNICORN.

The machine was operated with no hopper, only bills or tickets.

I have just turned it on, the machine cycles normally, then shows PAPER OUT CALL ATTENDANT. I had a look at the printer, it shows an orange light: "PAPER". I assume there is no paper anymore in the printer. Anyway, I would like to put the printer off so that I might only insert bills.  Could anyone tell me if I need a key chip to get into the options? If so, which one and what is the procedure? If not, how  do I do that please? I would not want to do something wrong...

Thanks for your help.

Yes, in order to disable the ticket printer you need to Key the machine.  What version are your stepper game chips?  That will determine what key you need as well as where you turn it off.

with no hopper in the machine, and if you turn off the printer, then anytime you cashout you will go to a attendent hand pay situation, machine lock up ,  then you have to use jackpot reset switch to cancel and get back in the play mode !

Why not put some paper in it so the error message goes away

The printer has 2 optical eye sensors near the front.
Lay a block of wood in between them and the error will go away.
Paper is made from wood right?  rotflmao
Anyways, the sensors detect when there's no paper in the printer.
It doesn't know the difference between a block of wood or the actual folded thermal printer stock.

Jim

That's all I want, I don't mind turning the reset key after I cash out.
My board is a 1952.2 model

Base chip is: SB 100948

So the key chip I need is...

Thanks

Hi,

I have tried to find the block of optics, with no success.. Shouldn't I buy a pair of glasses first? Where the hell these optics might be? Scratch Head

Game1: SG 000 53  Game 2: SG 000 53

I wish I could forget about the key chip but whenever someone will press cashout, it will be a drama at home.

Thanks for your help.

BUZZ is correct. Inside where paper goes there is a hole for eye. That is where you put tape over.
Ford

It will still want to  print when you go to cash out.

Don't have pic but in printer where stack of tickets go you will see a small hole in side close to bottom. That is where it is.

Top left you should see a blue tag, that's where the optics are.  You don't even need tape, just slip a piece of paper down in there to block the optics. ( I use a old printer ticket )

That is not the complete SG number, as Capt Happy told me it must be a 8 didgit number.

You have a Key 17, did you key that machine with it ?  Key 17 might work Key 31 will for sure.

Disconnect the cash out button and no more problems.

PM me your address and I'll send you a book of tickets.

Thanks a lot for the picture. Karma+

after the printer problem was solved then I had a kind of PRIMARY SAS DOWN, I went into the otpions, I could not do it agin but it eventually cleared. Now the machine works.

One more thing, I would have expected a better "music" when the reels turn, it is the same old one we had on S and S +.... No other option?

When credits are won thanks to the wild symbol, no sound. There's a music when credits are won with other symbols.

The loudspeaker's tray 's cable is cut, that might explain this.

Thank you all.

BUZZ, thanks very much for your help. I will not bother you sending tickets to France.

Enhanced sounds on an s2000 are dependent on 2 things. First, there must be a multimedia board mounted to the top of your MPU board with a sound simm in the socket of the multimedia board. Second, in menu 3, enhanced sounds must be selected for rollup, etc. Check to make sure your game has the multimedia board and sound simm present

Sorry, I just read your first post and noticed your machine is a 5 reel enchanted unicorn. Is it also a vision slot with a video screen in the top box? If so, this would open up a whole differant can of worms for sound setting

Well this is your thread were going off topic on.  Do a search on S 2000 enhanced sound. Attached is a picture of a MPU with the sound board and sound SIMM. Pull your MPU out and look to see if you have them. If by chance you do, no problem for someone to tell you how to set them up. ( it's real easy ) If you don't have them expect to spend somewhere between 50 and 75 dollars for the pair. On most games the sounds are probably worth the expence, a few I would tell you to save your money their just not worth it. I don't know anything about THE ENCHANTED UNICORN game so will leave that for input from others.

Cash out button is quite easy to disconnect, remove 3 screws that hold the inner door panel on. With this panel moved to the side, look at the cash out button you will see two legs holding the micro switch in place. With a pocket knife pry one leg to the side far enough to slip the micro switch down maybe a 1/16 of a inch ( make sure you slip down the side of the micro switch that has the button ) To test press the cash out button and if you don't hear the small clicking sound of the micro switch you did a good job and it's disabled. If you ever need to enable it, just reach in with a screw driver and push it back up into place.  OR just remove one of the wires. I like the first one better because it's much easier to enable if needed.

I made a offer on the ticket book and it still stands, I don't care where you live.
