split screen vfd on s200

What all is required to make the vfd on the left side to show split screen for the money amount?
I know the software has to support it and you need the proper version chip but do you need a special vfd chip?

Version chip that ends with GX1 will do it.  MULTI_DENOM etc.

I believe the game chips also need to support multi-denomination.

brichter is correct, if your game is like a Bonus Spin with a LCD it is limited to single denomination so you can't get a split VFD those that games.

Luke noted that he understands you must use a game that supports it.     You are correct that Vision games will not support it as well as some early OS versions but most of the true S2000 themes and newer OS for the S+ titles will do it.

Actually on the original question, about the VFD Driver Chip, you do need to run a VFD 007 if using a separate driver board, the all in one displays are new enough not to have to worry about (most have VFD 3100), but some of the old driver boards that have the ribbon cable (from say NJ and other non "major" jurisdictions) may still have old software in them (like VFD 002 or 3)

I guess it's a two part question as I was originally thinking he was asking about the Version chip, but as you noted maybe he was asking about the VFD chip which you are correct on.
