I just recentlly purchased a Model 96400300 dollar slot machine. It takes bills or coins, my problem is that if you hit as much as 300 credits it automaticly starts dropping cioins for the payout and I only have 10 coins so I have to keep putting coins in until it counts 300 or whatever amount is cashing out. Is there any way that I can eliminate the coin despenser or is there a switch where I can click off the amount quickly. I have a manual with dip switch setting but it is on the lowest amount (300) already. I hope I have managed to convey my problem.....any help will be very much appreciated......Thanks

Ok, there are several solutions.  But first read this thread and tell us what SP chip you have so we can give you the directions.

http://www.newlifegames.net/spset/SPSS.htm

Since you only have 10 coins, you may instead want to increase the 300 credit limit to something higher. How that is done will depend on the SP chip. You will also be able to tell it when to go into hand pay mode (turn the reset key) so if you hit something over a certain number it won't want to keep paying from the hopper.

I don't have the PSR for that chip, but being an older one, it probably does not have separate limits. There may not be much you can do other than get more coins or change to a SP chip that support more options. A SP1274 is a newer type 2 chip that would give you the option that you need. However you would probably also need a SET chip (if you don't already have one) to re-enable the BV.

Before you start to play the machine, press the cash/credit button. If it illuminates then all winning should go to credit and not payout.

But only until it hits the 300 credit limit. That is why he would need a SP that lets him set a hand pay amount.

Dquick, if you're not going to upgrade your SP chip, then after buying the tokens, turn on both dip switches to allow the hopper limit to be set in the software. You will then be able to choose any hopper limit you like between 300 and 9999. However, as Poppo said, with the SP902, you will still have only one setting that acts as the hopper limit, the credit limit, and the jackpot lockup limit, so you'll have to have enough coins to handle all non-lockup wins.

2-coin Double Spin Five Times Pay (SS7506) has a lot of juicy mid-range payouts ranging from 50-600 coins, and then rare hits of 1,000. 1,500, 2,500, 3,000, and 10,000 coins.

For that game, I would get 800-1,200 tokens or so, set the hopper limit somewhere between 600 and 999, and just enjoy playing the machine. You'll have enough coins to cash out whenever you want, and only the largest wins will lock up.

Buying a newer SP chip and a SET chip is the less expensive option, as they will cost you less than the tokens. With the newer chips, you could run coinless (hopper limit of 0) and still have a credit limit of 9999 and whatever jackpot lockup limit you wanted. However, you would lose the ability to select the song that plays during the "double spin" feature. Your current chip should have seven songs from which to select; the newer chip will only have one.

You would want either an SP1077 or an SP1228. I don't have info on the SP1077, but for the SP1228, the correct SET chip would be one of either SET088, SET091, SET101, SET102, or Set116.

I'd go with SET088 or SET091.

As an aside, a SET015 or SET026 will turn on the BV and set the denomination for these game chips if you already own one of them, but they will not be able to set up progressives or do anything else that the correct SET chips would do.
