Hi all,

I do not have the ACE (round) key for my Bally 5000 Plus, I am going to need to pick the lock. Can someone tell me which direction it turns to open the door? CW or CCW?

Thanks,

DC

Grind the top off 1/8th of an inch and punch through with hardened round chisel.

Or if you need a lot of locks opened;

<edit> Opps only for tubular locks.

Got the lock off by grinding the outer edge until the pins popped out - then simply turned it with pliers.

Vermin stool all in the base, lots of surface rust on many surfaces. The hopper is pretty rusty. But everything seems to turn..

Improper power supply was stuck in there, wires cut and who knows what else! I am going to use a PC AT Power Supply for the +/- 12V, and 5V lines and a separate 24 Vdc power supply.

So I'll pull and check all connections - figure out a substitute for the CPU battery, rewire the AC stuff correctly and see what happens!

Not sure if it powers up or not. I saw cut wires and a PS unit that was loose and missing the power cord.  I took the power supply unit out of the machine and bench tested the supply - which did not output 24 Vdc but had +12 and +5 - it is the wrong supply.

I ordered a standard AT computer power supply and should have that in 3 or 4 days. That will give me the +/- 12, and 5.  I will use a separate supply for 24, which I already have.

MPU battery - I have read that this is pretty important.  I think this should be 3.3 volts?  It will have to be replaced.  And I will have to make a Keypad so I can program options - assuming the thing powers up and works once I get the power supplies straightened out.
