Does the S model support tournament mode? I have seen reference to S+ supporting it.  My machine is white diamonds which is a double diamonds clone.

I don't know about the S slots but for the S+ you need to have a tournament chip set which was released only for a select set of themes.

Its not like you could go to any S+ game and turn on tournament mode.

Does anyone have the magical directions for setting up tournament options for the S+? Can't find it in any S+ manual.

Each set of chips has a PSR and a PAR.
PSR = Program Summary Report - This is the game chip.
PAR = Paytable and Reel - This is the reel chip.

The PSR has the instructions for how to put it into Tournament mode. Provided the reel chip supports it.,

If you choose Ricks Faq (middle of home page), followed by IGT Game Bible
You can see which set you are interested in.

The post back what PSR you are interested in and some kind sole might mail it to you from their private collection (assuming your profile has a valid email address).

Had to clear the board after replacing the battery and am trying to get this tournament machine back to tournament mode but don't have the instructions on how to do it.

Are you saying every chip has it's own set of personalized instructions to get the game into tournament mode?

IT may not apply yours but then it just might.

Look at Page 0 options.

Dummy guide to tourney install:

Installing Tournament Game Chips
•   Turn Off machine
•   Open door and remove coin tray and hopper
•   Remove MPU tray and board
•   Locate and remove the SS (reel) chip and replace it with the ST (tournament reel chip) (make sure the notch on the end of the chips face in the same direction as the old one!!)
•   Locate the SG (Game chip) and replace it with the supplied SG chip.
•   Make sure there are no bent pins on the two chips you replaced and that they are fully seated in the sockets.
•   Re-install the MPU tray, hopper and coin tray.
•   Turn on machine
•   You should see a 61 in the winner paid window and a 0 in the credit window. (If you get something other than the 61-0..goto the error chart at the end of this instruction sheet and do what it states in the clearing tilt column and return to this point when you get the 61-0)
•   Press the test switch one time and change the 0 to a 1
•   Close door and wait for game reels to spin.
•   At this point the game should play as a normal game. (Non-Tourney mode)
•   WITH NO CREDITS ON THE MACHINE AT ALL!!!! . Open the door
•   Press the test button 2 times
•   You should see a 2 in the winner paid window and a 0 in the credit window
•   Turn the jackpot key 8 times
•   You should now have a 20 in the winner paid and a 0 in the credit
•   20-0 is non tourney mode.
•   Change the 20-0 to a 20-1 by pressing the spin reels button 1 time
•   You have now turned on tourney mode
•   Turn the key 1 time, the winner paid display should now read 21 and the credits will be a 4 digit number
•   21 is initial credit setting, the number of credits you want to start the tourney game with. It can be any number of credits upto 9999
•   You change the 0000 in the credits window by pressing the spin reels button, you change the digit place by pressing the test button
•   I recommend 2500 credits for this setting. Press the spin reels button till you get a 0, press test button 1 time to move left a digit, press the spin button till you get a 0, press test button 1 time, press spin till you get a 5, press test button 1 time, press spin reels till you get a 2.
•   Displays should now read 21 and 2500
•   Turn key one time and winner paid will show 23. This is the auto bet setting. If set to 0 it is off, set to 1 by pressing the spin reel button will turn it on. I recommend OFF.  23 – 0
•   Turn key 1 time and winner paid will be 24  and a 0. This is auto spin with with max bet. I suggest you press the spin button to make this 24 -1. The game will auto spin with max bet.
•   NOTE: if you set auto spin and auto bet to on, the game will play itself and you will not be able to stop it until all credits are played!
•   Turn key again, 26 and 0 , candle flash time when award is paying. Suggest 26 and 3. Press spin reels 3 times till you get a 3 in credits window
•   Turn key again, 27 and 0 displayed, Time display leave at 27 and 0
•   Turn key again , 28 and 000 displayed, credit payout rate. This adjusts the speed at which the won credits go to the display. I suggest 020. Change digit amount with spin reels and move to the next digit to the left with the test button
•   Turn key again, 30 – 37 displayed no change
•   Turn key again , 34 and 0, no change
•   Turn key again, 35 and 0 no change
•   Turn key again, 39 and 0 no change
•   Turn key again, 40 and 0000, this is the time setting. I suggest leaving it at 0000. If you change the 0000 in the credit window to a number, it will be the amount of time in minutes and seconds the tournament will play before a break. IE: 2450 would be 24 minutes and 50 seconds.
•   Turn key again, 41 and 0000. This is the amound of time the break will last in minutes and seconds. Again suggest 0000
•   Turn key again, 42 and 0000, Amount of time for the final play after the break. Again suggest 0000.
•   Turn key again, 82 and 0, no change
•   Turn key again, back to 2 and 0
•   Press test button 17 times till displays are blank
•   Close door and wait for reels to spin
•   Press and HOLD the spin reels button while turning the jackpot key 1 time
•   2500 credits should now show in the credit window.
•   Press spin reels again to start tourney play
•   The credits will count down from 2500 to zero at which time the game will end
•   All winnings will accumulate in the winner paid window. The person with the highest winner paid number wins the tournament.
•   When all credits are gone you have 2 options
•   To continue tourney play, press and hold the spin reels button and turn the jackpot key to put 2500 back on again
•   Or open door press test switch till you see the 2 – 0
•   Turn key till you see the 20 – 1
•   Press the spin reels button to change to 20 – 0
•   Press test button till displays are blank and close door.
•   When reels spin you are back to normal game play.
