I am new and have a Sierra Silver 2CM slant top. I've grown tired of it and want to change it. I would like to change it to a 5 times pay 3CM regular/tournament. Is there someplace I can buy this as a kit? I will also need a set chip, chip remover tool, and play 3 credits button. I need locks and keys because I'm tired of sticking my finger in the hole and pushing up on the lever to open it. Where can I buy quarter size tokens for a good price?

I'm also having a problem with the DBV-200-B023. Sometimes it works fine and other times it takes the bill and doesn't make the sound where it accepts it. It then starts returning the bill but goes like 1/32" every couple seconds. Once it gets about 1.5-2" out of the DBV it goes back to high speed and spits it out the rest of the way fast. Sometimes it takes about 2 minutes to spit the bill all the way out. What could cause this?

Fot the first part, might put a WTB in the classifieds.

The second part sounds like your BV needs to be cleaned. Open the head and transport and clean all of the rollers and belts. Don't use alcohol on the head optics. If you don't know how to open them for cleaning, let us know and we can post some pictures.

<edit> Here are the pictures. Click on then to enlarge.

I already did that twice a month ago and it got a little better. The belts are really smooth. Maybe they need to be replaced? I did use alcohol on the optics. What am I supposed to use?

Just warm soapy water with a q-tip on the optics. Alcohol can make them cloudy.

I use a product called 'Belt Ease' on my belts. It can be found at most automotive stores and Walmart. Spray some in the lid and use a q-tip to treat the belts. The stuff stinks and don't get it in your eyes. YMMV, but I have had good luck with it.

A SP1213 should work. (needs a SET111)

This link might help too.

SP1213 Type 0,1,4,5,12,14 (Tournament) 10mhz, ID023, SET111, $0.01/$0.02, 9 Paylines, Tokenized - SAS Bonusing and EFT

SP1253 Type 0/1/4/5/14 (Tournament) ID023, SET088/89/90/91/101/102/116/121, $0.01/0.05 - SAS EFT

Tokenized (and someone can correct me if I am wrong) allows you to set up X number of credits per coin.

<edit> Just double checked

Tokenized Credits   Tokens can be set to a value between 2 and 99 credits with the set chip.

I searched and found the chip page but don't know what all the numbers mean. Set is which set chips you need but I have no idea what the 088/89/90/91/101/102/116/121 numbers mean. I don't understand what the difference is b/t $.01/$.02 and $.01/$.05

I am having 1 other problem. The hopper does not spit out all the coins before erroring empty. There is still at least 40 coins in hopper when it says empty. How do I fix that?

088/89/90/91/101/102/116/121  are just the different set chips that will work 088 089 090 etc.

$.01/$.02 and $.01/$.05 are the denominations supported. Not all chips will do $.01 etc.

It's not uncommon for the hopper not to fully empty. A new agitator may help, but generally those last coins just bounce around the bottom of the hopper.

My chip says $.01/.05 but it's a quarter machine. Shouldn't it say $.25? How many coins does the hopper hold? I'm thinking of changing it to tokens.

The list won't show 'common' denominations. The denomination setting is for how many credits to give per dollar (assuming one has a bill validator). Some people set up a quarter machine with a $.01 denomination so that a dollar will quickly add 100 credits. For home use only of course. Normally the denomination is set to match whatever you have your machine set to take.

How many tokens does the hopper hold, 1000? I want to buy a 1000pk of tokens cause when relatives kids come over they like to play with tokens instead of just pushing the button with stored credits.

Look at the list above. Whatever token size is closest to the real coin. But other than Ike sized dollars, 1000 will be no problem. Just make sure you move the hopper full probe up if need be. For home use I see no reason not to just put it at the top hole.

If you get tokens, don't forget to change the sample coin in your coin comparitor.

Don't mean to butt in here, but I highly recommend the SP1311 if you want a tournament chip. I haven't tried SP1213 but I can tell you that SP1253 sucks.

What the PSRs won't tell you is that the SP1253 counts credits very slowly and has a slightly longer than average pause between games. The slower count will drive you nuts. The SP1311 counts up credits at a nice clip and just generally performs better.

The SP chips will work with 2 or 3 coins. You just need to make sure you have a 3 coin SS (reel) chip.

One thing I am unsure of is is you need a tournament reel chip or if a standard one will work (with a tournament SP). I've never used that mode, so I don't know.

delta9  It doesn't take a whole lot, but I'm getting confused. This thread started out you wanted tournament play. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but in tournament play you don't need either the BV or tokens. You press a button and credits are added, when they are used up just press the add credits button again.  ( Bally 5500 are the only tournament machines I have had any dealings with, and that's the way they work )

Now if delta9 wants this machine set up for tournament play, doesn't he also have to change the SS chip to a ST chip??   Scratch Head Scratch Head

You don't have to have the hopper full. If some one hits cashout, let the hopper pay out all the coins in the hopper, if not finished paying out, just open the door and toss some of the coins back in the hopper.

Buzz,

I think he might want both options. And you are right about not needing tokens/coins for tournament play. But if you plan to switch back and forth which you can do easily .....

Also I edited my post before you posted asking the same thing about the reel chip.

delta9,
You may want to clarify exactly what you want to do.

Sorry Mark I type slow!!

He has a SP1271, get a SS6271 ( 97.42% ) for the 5 Times Pay. Use a Set 88 and set it for 100 credits for a dollar.  ( My Wife didn't like that, said it's " not real ")

I want the machine to work as normal(still use bills and tokens) but to hit the top awards a lot. I would like to be able to change this also to regular standard payout.

The tournament page shows: ST0036 2003.313 45.177 SS6273 242B 5x Pay 3CM
The 3CM page shows: SS6273 92.513 (92.102) 15.580 (90)AAA 2000/5000/15K (1) 6.42

Does that mean I can just buy a SS6273 chip and run SP1311 and when I turn it on tournament mode it pays at 2003.313% and when in reg mode it will pay the usual 92.513%? That is what I want to do.

I want the machine to work as normal(still use bills and tokens) but to hit the top awards a lot. I would like to be able to change this also to regular standard payout.

Let's start with this. A high % chip does not necessarlly mean it will hit the top awards a lot. It just means that it will hit 'something' a lot.  People generally go with a high % chip just so that it does 'something' often enough to keep it from geting boring.

Does that mean I can just buy a SS6273 chip and run SP1311 and when I turn it on tournament mode it pays at 2003.313% and when in reg mode it will pay the usual 92.513%? That is what I want to do.

From the PSR:

"The tournament option can be enabled in the self test mode, provided the correct paytable program, beginning with STxxxx, is installed.  "

So you do need a ST chip, and not a SS. That link I provided earlier shows the ST chips and the equivelent SS (for comparison when used in standard play mode).

Do you know what tournament mode is?

"The tournament games can be operated in three modes:  time-limit-only, credit only, or both time limit and credit play.  Time-limit-only games are selected by setting the credit value to zero and setting the time to the desired limit.  Credit-only games are selected by setting the time limit to zero and setting the credits to the desired amount.  Games that combine both the time limit and credit play are selected by setting the desired values in their respective fields.  "
