I want to change my S-2000 machine to a triple dollar mystery machine. I have reel strips from an S+ and three standard S-2000 reels and would like to know the following:
1. What chips do I need to make it a mystery machine, the chips I have now are:SG000363 and SB100271 and SB100009.  I would like to buy a complete CPU with the right chips or just the chips or whatever I can find.
2. Did they make back light reel strip for the S-2000 if so where can I get them.
Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. I am new to the sight and hope I am doing things right.
Thanks,
Jerry

I can't really help much but I wonder if your S+ strips
will fit okay in the S2000 reel baskets correctly?  Scratch Head 3
Could you try installing one S+ strip
and let us know how it fits?

I put one S+ reel strip into the s-2000 non back light reel basket and it fit fine, will not know if everything lines up until I find the right chips. I know the S+ reel strips must be cut down to fit the s-2000 back light reels and did not want to do that.

I have looked through the S 2000 list and can't find a Triple Dollar Mystery game listed. Unless I'm wrong, it looks like you will need a SB001000 base chip and use the SS chip you have in your S+.

I don't have a clue if SB001000 will support backlit or not. If I was to take a guess, I would say no.

Buzz,

Thank you very much for taking the time to look for the items I am looking for. I know that for a number of years I played at the casino an s-2000 triple dollar mystery machine, they had about 20 of them at first, they were not back light reels. but were s-2000 machines. That is why I bought the S+ mystery machine when I found one for sale with the mystery glass in it. I also saw online that IGT came out with a Triple Dollar Mystery machine on the s-2000 platform at the beginning of this month if I read the article right. It did not say if the reels were back light.
Thanks again for taking your time.

I don't think I was real clear on what I said.  You can use a SB001000 in a S 2000 with just about any and all SS chips ( we found one that it wouldn't work ) About the only thing that you can't do with that setup is change the payout percentages. ( your stuck with which ever SS chip you installed ) You as a player in a casino wouldn't have any idea if it had a SS chip are was a full blown S 2000 with a SB chip.

If as you say IGT just came out with this machine, I don't think you can expect to be able to get your hands on a SB chip for a few years.

Thanks for setting me straight, I just assumed that if I was playing a S-2000 machine that had the mystery symbol on the glass, that there were S-2000 chips made for it. Now I can look for the SB chip and I have a SS8189 chip. Does it matter if the SG000363 chip and the Vision chip numbers are different between my two board. I noticed that when I put in the five star kit the read out says play 3 credit and how much you won spelled out, where as the Triple Seven Board that I have reads with coursed line with how much money you have in numerical form. Is there a way to change that or is that set in the chips.
I have a lot to learn so I have much questions to ask. I am slowly reading through the S-2000 posts, I do not have a laptop and must keep my feet up so many hours a day so I have limited time on the computer.
Thanks,
Jerry

SB001000 does support back lit but not as fancy as a Theme Specific SB chip.

Your Version chips are different, VS stands for Stepper Version, that is why you get different output on the VFD
Some Version chips enable a split display looks something like this

Cash $100.00 | 1 Credit = $1  on the top
with various messages on the bottom

The single line chip will scroll or use a few effects to show various messages on the display.
I do not remember if it it showed the players total cash amount on the display like the split display does.
I think it only showed the win, cash out, or hand pay amounts until the next game play is completed.

I wonder what SB chip would be for the Triple Dollar with MRA myself (2CM) since I also have that kit
Unless IGT started to use the Credit word on the award glass because the S2000 was in the development stages when they designed that theme.
