What is the difference between a Bally 5000, S5000 and 5000+

Markinaz asked this a few years back but, no replies for this question. So what are the differences between the Bally 5000, Bally S5000 and the Bally 5000+. Can you take a Bally 5000 and build a 5000+ with optional parts.

"Bally 5000, S5000, 5000Plus - whats the diff?

Greetings once again oh keeps of the sacred slot info-

I've seen reference to these various platforms here but what’s the major differences, how to tell them apart, and can the 5000+ manual I just downloaded be used on them all (for the most part)? "

Basically, it's like a '67 Corvette, a '69 Corvette, and a 1970 Corvette.
Some parts are interchangeable - some...

Look at the front of a Bally 5000 and a Bally 5500.
The most obvious change is the doors and the bill acceptor.
On the 5000's, there's a side door for the cash box whereas on the 5500,
they moved the whole unit inside.

I have no idea what a Bally 5000+ is?
Sounds like a slightly upgraded version of a Bally 5000?
I'm sure that if you went to the Bally website, you might be able to pull up some archives.
Do a search on the forum threads too.

I don't know the difference between a S5000 and the 5000 (if there is any), but the most visible difference between an 5000 and a 5000+ is the additional small blue display on the 5000 (w/o Plus) version, rest ist pretty much the same, as far as I know. I was always surprised that the version w/o the display is the newer one. I also haven't seen any 5000 (+) model with integrated BV...

@stayouttabunker: He asked about 5000 models only.... then your comparison with Vettes would be true, but when you include S5500 you need to change the models. Modelyears you mentioned are all C3, but the 5500 is a new generation, not just a facelift. So it would be a C4... :-) Sorry for being picky... :-)

Thanks for pointing that out....I thought his "S" was a "5" so I was thinking "Bally 5500"...sorry  Duh! face in palm

BTW My father owned a silver 1963 Corvette Stingray...had big wing hubs on the wheels and
a really cool looking slanted twin back windows.
I've never personally owned one but I like them!  yummy

This should help compare the S5000 and 5000+ . Notice the difference in the door hinge.
