Hi,

I am getting into some AVP's for the first time and i would like to have as much info as possible.

What are the ram clear procedures?

How do you change a game?

Does anyone have game changes and parts?

Does anyone have a manual?

Thanks

depends on the version of AVP you have.  i have no experience with the 2.0 but i've heard that a CD is used whereas for the 2.5 and 3.0 you will be using a combination of thumb drives and a jumper(2.5) and a mini toggle switch(3.0).  Safe Storage wipe is close to equivalent to RAM clear on an 80960 based machine, Cabinet Memory wipe is kinda equivalent to clear chipping an 80960 based machine and the Hard Drive wipe is self explanatory; watch out for the hard drive wipe because you will have to reinstall the AI and each game package if you do that one.  it's one of those last resort type things ttth yes

it's not too difficult once you been through it a few times.  it involves using the diagnostic CD or thumb drive along with the game thumb drive(s) to install the package onto the hard drive and then using the ekey to enable it.  you will also need a new licensing dongle when you change or add themes so watch for that.

lotsa documentation available on IGT's knowledgebase website.  yes

the AVP is a great platform for the casino manager and the player but it's a real bitch for us techs.  there are several different cabinets that are considered AVP and they all have their issues.  expect lotsa heat issues because these things suck all the dust out of the air and get clogged up real quick; i have 2 of my techs who clean our AVP's every 2-3 weeks early in the morning to cut down on failures.  there is literally too much to list here, i would forget to mention way too many problems to watch out for so i seriously reccommend checking out the slottechforum on Delphi; there's loads to learn over there.  post up any questions and i'll try to assist; enjoy!!  Help
