Hi,
New to forum, looking for a used, replacement hopper control board (AS-2981-5) for a Bally E-2000, V-2000 machine.  I know Barry Fox has them, but I was hoping to find something more reasonably priced.  The machine that's it's going in isn't a real desirable piece, so I don't want to get into it too deep money wise. Thanks

The one Barry sells is a new redesigned board.
The others boards are 25-30 year old board
that may or may not work.

Hi and Welcome to New Life Games... If you don't mind me asking what's your hopper doing, or not doing? Can you run machine tests? Are you blowing fuses? Hopper not running on payouts?? Most of these problems are easy to fix if you know how to do basic soldering. Do you see any visible damage to the board?  Gary

Board is fried.  A coin somehow wedged itself on the board & shorted it out.  It went up in smoke.  I wasn't there when it happened.  It's my brother-in-law's machine.  I gave him a board from a non-working machine I have to get him up & running again.  Now I'm working on my machine & I'm minus a board.  I was going to post a pic of the board, but haven't figured out how to do that on here yet.

I guess it depends on how bad the board was damaged, but a lot of boards can be repaired with a jumper wire where a trace was damaged. I have fixed 4-5 hopper boards that way..

I have a friend that has a problem with his original board in his e2000 three coin multiplier.    The hopper fuse keeps blowing.    I am thinking of replacing the board with the modern version that foxslots sells.   Before i do this, could there possibly be anything else that would cause this problem?   The machine is super clean and was working great.  I am not a fan of jumping circuits due to the fact that the board is old and it may work for a while until the next circuit fails.
Lastly, foxslots, if you read this,  thank you for your help via email.

Charlie,   Barry at Foxslots does a repair service on boards too. He offers the replacement part Diode that goes in position CR11 & CR12 on your hopper board. If yours still has the original style round Diodes, that tend to develop crack that will blow the hopper fuse. He also carries the replacement Mac-15 that goes in the Q3 position on the hoppers board. These usuall are the main problem that go wrong with the boards. So you have 3 choices, one send it in for repair, two buy the parts are fix it your self, or three buy the replacement boards

I picked up the hopper today,   removed the board and found the c8 and c10 diodes all burnt up.    The owner does not want me to jump them or replace them,  He wants to put in the new board.  I will order it today and thank you for everyone's help on this.

Hi Charlie. I'd be interested in the old board for parts if your not planning on keeping or fixing it. Thanks Gary

Hey Gary,   My customer may want it back.  I was going to show him the two burnt diodes.   If he finds that it is garbage,  I will let you know.
