I haven't met a Jackpot that I didn't like!!!

« Reply #25 on: April 11, 2012, 06:00:07 PM »

I have a sizzling sevens IGt S2000 Slot machine. Its has a meter disconnected error. I have replaced the processor board the cabinet I/O board. I looked at the connectors they look good. THE only thing I have not replaced is the mother board. My question is whats causeing this error. Thanks Need help

I'm attaching a photo. I don't know what this device is called or what it's funciton is, because it is not in my manual. Could it cause a meter disconnected error.

Rickaaaer,

I merged this new topic that you created with your original topic as I think that they are the same machine/problem. This makes it easier so that there are not responses in various places causing confusion. If I made the wrong assumption, please let me know.

The ports that you show in the picture are for Fiber Optic connections to the machine for casino purposes. You are seeing little rubber plugs in the fiber ports, and these ports would not have anything to do with your problem.

I would expect that your error would be related to the I/O card(s) being bad, or not plugged in correctly/firmly. (It could be a broken wire or something like that as well.) I am not sure if anyone has suggested that you check the wires that go to the physical meters? Are they broken, disconnected, or not seated firmly? Try unplugging and plugging with the power off and make sure the wires are fully seated in the plug and see if that helps?

Another thing to try is to bypass the meters as described in this thread:

I am thinking that the problem is still with those darn I/O cards, but hey anything is worth trying! Hope that you have good results!

That's the plugs the casino uses for hooking up to their mainframe for sas and security stuff. It will not be the cause of your problem. Generally a meter disconnected error is generated by the cabinet IO board either because the board is bad or because the meters are actually diconnected or bad. Are your accounting meters on the lower right side of the cabinet still there? Plugged in? Bypassed? I had this error once and found the meter board had burned up and killed my cabinet IO board in the process

My post went to the next page, and I did not want you to miss this post....

Also the meters can be on the right of the reels on the side of the cabinet sometimes also...

+1 (Karma, or whatever) to cowboy for thinking the same as me, and saying it in a different way! rotflmao

Staz, the bypass for those IS pretty easy and a lot of us do it as general practice anymore, but I wouldn't suggest doing it till he locates the cause of the problem and gets the machine running
